This was such a cool... - This was such a cool experience! We learned a lot about the process and production of olive oil and had the ability to taste and smell the difference in the result. The explanation by Marie Carmen was amazing!

A highlight of our trip to Cordoba! - This olive oil tasting was a real highlight of our trip to Cordoba. Marie Carmen was incredibly warm and welcoming and her passion for olive oil is infectious! My partner is a chef and the information and content of the tasting managed to both interest and engage someone who is a professional and myself who is definitely not! We tasted alongside another couple and it was great to interact with others and share our thoughts. I felt it was also great value for money. Water is provided. We tasted 5 local olive oils initially & with bread and then were able to help ourselves to taste more around the store. We bought a couple of bottles to bring home we enjoyed them so much! Highly recommend for something a bit different in Cordoba.

If you’re in Cordova, why do anything else!? Besides the Mosque, Roman Bridge and the Alcazar - Honestly, this is one of my favourite activities. I’ll remember it forever. Marie was exceptional. She has a masters in Olive Oil and her family make small batches of organic olive oil. Her knowledge is extensive and we felt totally at ease with her, like she was a friend. Unbelievable experience, really we’re able to distinguish what different qualities and styles of olive oil there are. She is so passionate and you can really feel that in the experience. The shop is gorgeous and the products are clearly of high quality but don’t mistake that as being super expensive or of one type, she has varieties of olive oils (virgin, extra virgin, cold pressed) from all areas, balsamic vinegars, olive oil chocolate, but what I loved were the local oils she had. I didn’t realise this region was No.1 in the world for the best organic olive oil. 100% will be importing to the UK from her shop. Highly, highly recommend!

An original gift and a cool experience - Looking for an original gift for Father's Day, I came across "La Oleoteca de Córdoba" on Tripadvisor. I called, and simply by phone, Mari Carmen already infected me with the desire to go to the tasting. Both my husband, who was not at all expecting such a gift, as well as our 15-year-old daughter and I, were amazed by the amount of things he showed us (which we had no idea about), and, furthermore, by the passion with which he showed us. that counts them. The field, the olive harvest, the times, the process until it becomes oil... amazing. And now the "tasting moment", which from our ignorance was super cool and fun, but hey, we didn't do it so badly, right??? ;) We wish you the best in this business and everything related to it that comes, because in addition to understanding, you live it and transmit it. Only when you work on what really makes you happy can you do it this well. We will recommend this tasting to our friends when they travel to Córdoba, without a doubt. And you already know, Mari Carmen, that we are waiting for you in our land.

Well worth the visit. - Great experience and the lady who explained everything to us was fantastic. In the summary of the event it said we would make a traditional Cordobian dessert. This didn’t happen but experience still great. Just be aware this takes place in a shop. You don’t visit any factories or olive farms.

A New EVOO Experience! - I use olive oil all the time, but have never sniffed it or 'tasted' it on its own, so this was definitely a whole new experience! We learnt about the growing, harvesting, processing & labelling. Then we tried 5 oils, a little like wine tasting, trying to identify the aromas we could smell (type of fruit, fresh grass etc). At the end we were left, with the 2 others in our session, to try a selection of other oils from the shop, including the award winnerfrom last season (yes, we could now tell the difference!) We did buy some EVOOs to bring home, but there was no pressure to do so. Bread was provided to cleanse the palette and for tasting. I can't wait to try my extra virgin olive oil at home to compare! I'm glad I did it as I learnt a lot, but be prepared to drink some olive oil - it is good for you but was surprisingly peppery at times!
