DESCRIPTION:

Guests will be picked up from their accommodation in the morning and driven for about an hour to Cajas National Park, situated 30km west of Cuenca. This tour includes visits to two different altitude levels within the park. At the mid-level (3,960 meters), participants will embark on a 3-hour walk in the Toreadora area, with the duration depending on the group’s pace. This trek offers the chance to admire stunning landscapes, such as the Polylepis Forest and the moor-like Paramo, while the guide shares insights about the local flora and fauna. Cajas Park is also a fantastic spot for nature photography enthusiasts.

• El Cajas National Park - LUNCH TIME: Ecuadorian cuisine is diverse and delicious. During this tour, guests will have the opportunity to savor a delightful potato soup or fresh trout, with a great vegetarian option available for those who prefer it.
• Laguna Llaviucu - After lunch, there will be a complementary visit to the Llaviucu valley, located in the lower part of Cajas National Park at around 3200 meters above sea level. Here, visitors can enjoy a different landscape featuring numerous native trees that are part of the Andean mountain forest. Additionally, they can witness the origin of the Tomebamba River, regarded as the most significant river in the city of Cuenca.
