Next, brace yourself for the renowned Hardknott Pass, another of Britain’s most demanding roads. Along the way, pass by Hardknott Roman Fort, situated 1,000 feet up on the hills.

After descending into the Eskdale Valley, arrive at Muncaster Castle, where a delightful lunch is ready. Enjoy the castle’s splendid grounds and historical allure, adding a unique element to the day.

In the afternoon, visit Wast Water in Wasdale Valley, celebrated as “Britain’s Favourite View.” Surrounded by peaks such as Scafell Pike, Red Pike, and Great Gable, Wast Water is England’s deepest lake, famed for its striking beauty and dramatic ambiance.
