What a Great Day Out. - A bright sunny morning found we two departing Windermere on a Mountain Goat Tour.Duncan was our driver. We endured exciting passages through the lakes.Wrynose pass and Hardnott pass were two major inclusions on our comfortable bus.We passed lake upon lake and Tarn after Tarn, stopping for photography on the way.Duncan was well read on the many aspects of the history. We arrived at Muncaster Castle, and after a light lunch inclusive,we ventured through the venue. We toured for about seven hours.A good value tour.

The best of Cumbria - I’d thoroughly recommend this excursion. Tony was a super-chilled driver, especially over Wrynose and Hardknott Passes. We would probably not have driven over themselves in our little old car! It was a shame that the road to Wast Water was closed, but we had a great time at Muncaster. Loads of opportunities for photographs, from the High Fells to Axe-throwing at the Castle. Totally worth the price. Thank you Mountain Goat!

Up hills and down Dale - A very knowledgeable driver who was very friendly and chatty at the right times. Explained the roads and areas well. All about the animals and Beatrix Potter and the lakes.

Overall great tour and many photo opportunities - The tour was very great. Tony our guide was very friendly and took the time to make sure we saw everything. We picked up the tour at Ambleside and were informed at the time of pickup, and never before this point, that some of the roads we would have normally taken were closed due to potholes.

High Adventure to be sure. - The vistas were "high" and inspirational, and the rides through the passes were an "adventure" indeed. Mark P was a skilled and excellent driver while still being a wonderful guide through a rugged part of the Lake District. What a lovely and interesting way to spend a day. Marcomb Castle was a bonus. Highly recommend!!

Amazing experience! - What a wonderful tour! We thought that Mark P’s commentary was engaging, educational and thoroughly entertaining. The locations were diverse, with an excellent divide between scenic vistas and cultural experiences. We were especially enchanted by Muncaster Castle- the bird show was truly unlike anything myself and my six children have ever seen. My youngest son, Mark, would not stop raving about the vultures, and we found the ax throwing and archery to be a unique, family friendly activity. We even had the opportunity to speak to the owner, and learned about the intricacies of running a castle in the modern era. The lunch was also fantastic- my daughter Claire said the coronation chicken was some of the best food she has ever had. The way back gave us some new perspectives on the English country side, and we were charmed by Beatrix Potters home. It has been the highlight of our trip, in large part due to Mark P and his experienced, well- researched tour.

Neat way to see the majestic mountainside! - Great way to see magnificent views. Plenty of stops for pictures and toilet breaks. Tour guide was witty and informative. The castle tour portion was fun but would have wished for more time to explore and see all the different parts. Long journey by windy roads on comfortable shuttle bus, so be prepared if you a prone to motion sickness.
