Highly recommend! - The Lake District is absolutely gorgeous and suitable for hikers and strollers alike. Can also simply take a boat ride on one of the lakes and there are snacks and fun ice cream stands at every turn for kids if all ages. We didn’t backpack but the mere prospect looked amazing. Also enjoyed swan, duck and goose watching.

Magical 6 Lakes Tour. - Our driver, Tim, was excellent in his commentary and particularly good with 2 children who came. Although it was a ‘whistle stop’ tour it was a great experience and we were blessed with good weather.

Informative and peaceful - The Lake District has strong ties to famous literary figures, notably Beatrix Potter. My guide was very informative and shared his knowledge in a way that brought the trip to life beyond just narrative.

One of the best and most creative tour guides - I have been around the world n joined a good number of tours. Tim, the tour guide from Mountain Goat, has been the most knowledgable and the most enthusiastic. He is also the most innovative in photography. Although I have been to the Lake District a number of times, the itinerary still impressed me. Tim told us a great deal of new things about the history, culture, geography n especially poetry about the region. His creative group photo n video of us are really creative n memorable. Very highly recommend him n the tour.

Unforgettable Six Lakes Adventure: The Magic of the Lake District with Tim - Today, we embarked on a tour of six lakes, and it was one of the best tours I've ever experienced. Tim was an excellent driver and commentator. Additionally, he is an exceptional photographer. Tim was very kind and patient throughout the tour. I learned a great deal about the Lake District from him. I highly recommend the Mountain Goat tours, and especially Tim. Thank you.

Highly recommended tour of the lakes. - Highly recommended tour to learn about the local area. Our driver was a wealth of knowledge and the route was spectacular, with ample time at stop off points to take photos of the scenery, grab food or have a toilet break. Even if you are on a short stay, then this is a great way to maximise your time in the Lake District.

Adding to the experience - I was in two minds about booking a tour, given that getting around the Lake District is so easy by using public transport. However, as I had limited time, I decided to see what else was on offer, and I'm so glad I did. Although my tour backtracked a bit, to where I had already been, I once again got to experience the Kirkstone Pass, which had only re-opened the day before, when I came across from Glenridding. I wondered about some of the beautiful, but isolated farm buildings down in the valley, and was delighted to have my curiosity more than satisfied - thanks Geoff. I probably wouldn't have taken the extra time to visit Grasmere and that, together with the Castlerigg Stone Circle were the highlights of my Windermere stay - not forgetting Sarah Nelson's gingerbread shop!
