Experience the complete journey on La Route du Thé. Visit the colonial establishment of Domaine de Aubineaux. The tour encapsulates the history of tea production in Mauritius, includes a visit to the Bois Cheri Tea Factory Museum and plantation – showcasing the full tea processing methods. Enjoy a satisfying brew of tea. The tour moves forward to the historical Saint Aubin House, built in 1819. This dwelling served numerous sugar estate managers before it was refurbished in the 1990’s to preserve Mauritian cultural legacy. View the original construction materials, like beams and ship poles, see the transformation from sugar cane to agricultural rum, and observe how vanilla is derived from orchid flowers. It proceeds to La Vanille Nature Park, and Crocodile and Giant Tortoises Park to discover numerous animal species and a myriad of brightly-hued insects (over 23,000 species). After the visit to La Vanille Nature Park, the tour continues to the South coast towards Gris Gris and La Roche qui Pleure.
