A Sanctuary of Conservation and Connection

As I stepped into the Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary, I was immediately enveloped by the lush greenery and the symphony of native bird calls. The sanctuary also houses a variety of other native species, including the elusive Tasmanian Devil and the charming wombats and wallabies. The Koala Experience: A Memory to Cherish

The pinnacle of my visit was undoubtedly the Koala Experience. Guided by the knowledgeable Chris, our small group was introduced to the world of these endearing marsupials. As we entered the koala enclosure, I was captivated by the sight of these gentle creatures nestled among the eucalyptus trees.

Holding Morton, a young male koala, was an unforgettable experience. As he was placed in my arms, I was filled with a sense of awe and responsibility. The guides shared insights into the koalas’ diet and habits, emphasizing the importance of preserving their natural habitat. Despite the humorous mishap of receiving a ‘gift’ from Morton, the experience was a poignant reminder of the sanctuary’s role in conservation.
