La Leona waterfall adventure hike/swim - It lashed rain the whole tour but it was still an awesome fun family adventure. Sun shine would have been nice but absolutely not required for a great day out!

Water fall adventure - This trip was sooo much fun. It was a 10/10 adventure. Be prepared for a challenge. You will need to swim and climb over under obstacles. Tubing was fun. Friendly guides Alex and Francisco pointed out lots of flora and wildlife I would have missed. You won't regret it!

The best day! - I believe we signed up for the group tour but most of the time it was just our guide and our family of 3, and you would end up with others on certain parts of the hike. We were immediately greeted by Bernie to check us in for our tour, he was very nice and explained everything to us. Their office is very clean and has a shower/bathroom and lockers to store your items in if needed. Our shuttle arrived to take us to the starting point and we were introduced to our guide Mariano. Once at the starting point we were able to see howler monkeys and get our life vests. We are all strong swimmers, but would recommend this as it helps to have it to float in the water and relax along the way. After getting set up we were taken to a spot where we had the option to jump in, it isn't terribly high and was really fun!! Mariano said there was an easy, medium or extreme option to get to the waterfall - he said he thought medium would be best for us and we took his advice. It was a great hike! And the waterfall is so beautiful. Once you get there you are able to swim around for a bit and then you make the hike back. It was one of the most fun days we have ever had and was the highlight to our trip to Costa Rica. Mariano was awesome! Very friendly, knowledgeable and made sure we stayed safe. He grabbed our phone many times to make wonderful pictures and video for us. At the end we were given some fresh watermelon and bananas. What a wonderful day we will always remember :)

I want to do it again! - On our recent trip to Costa Rica, this tour was easily the highlight of our trip for me and my family! Our tour guide was Jeremy who was extremely friendly and accommodating to our group. We were a group of seven- my party of five and a couple, which served as a great opportunity for an intimate experience. Jeremy made sure we were able to get a head start in the morning to avoid any crowds. The hike was not at all strenuous for us, but water shoes are encouraged as your shoes will be completely submerged on your way to the endpoint. We got to witness some nature on the way with Jeremy serving as our photographer / videographer, and the waterfall is just beautiful! A must on your itinerary if you plan to visit Guanacaste!
