Truly Amazing Experience!! - It was AMAZING. From start to finish the experience was fun, personal, and our tour guide Berny really connected with us. He got us fresh fruits and taught us all about monkeys and other wildlife, all while taking the most beautiful photos 😻.
We were accompanied by a local tour guide as well, Nacho. He was also amazing, patient with us and respectful.
Fantastic and memorable, we felt like we really got a taste of Costa Rica. Highly recommend. Book with them NOW!!!

Bernie and Jason were... - Bernie and Jason were fantastic tour guides. Very knowledgeable about the area and were able to answer all our questions. The waterfall hike was beyond amazing. Took about 2 hours round trip of hiking and swimming with a nice little rest for some fresh fruits. Would highly recommend this trip for a family with teens

Really fun trip! It took a lot of pressure off , knowing you were with someone you could trust. - It was a really fun hike! I got to go through a little cave. The waterfall is amazing! The power of the waterfall was incredible! It was fun hearing about the volcano, that you walk right by. There were no mesquite’s, I think because of all the trees, that had the smell they don’t like!

A truly amazing adventure - We were traveling with friends and booked a private tour of La Leona Falls. What an incredible place, and a must see. If you go, request Verny and Derek as your guides. They are friendly, knowledgeable, and committed to ensuring you have the best experience possible. They went above and beyond expectations to make this a trip we will never forget.

Absolutely a must do! - Absolutely perfect day! Verni was our guide and made the hour and a half drive to the base of the hike so enjoyable with his vast knowledge and passion for this beautiful country. We joined Derek, another guide at the base of the hike, and he was equally as kind and helpful. The hike itself was absolutely exhilarating and so much fun! Verni brought a fresh pineapple that he cut up for us to snack on before making our way out. On the way back to our drop off point, we stopped at the most amazing local buffet for a feast that was one of the best meals we have had since our arrival. I cannot recommend this company and experience enough. Thank you On the Road!!

Le Leona Falls is an amazing adventure! So much to see and learn about! - The views were breath taking and the hike was truly an amazing adventure. Verny and Noel were our guides and they both were amazing and everyone one was so friendly! The water was flowing a little to hard to make it to the falls but that did not matter, the whole experience was incredible!

Best tour of our 10 day Costa Rica trip so far! - If you are on the fence, stop debating and do it!
First, Bernie, our guide, was amazing. He was very thoughtful and made sure everyone on the tour was well cared for. I had surgery (tummy tuck revision) about 2 months before this tour and he stayed close to me to ensure I stayed safe.
The hike wasn’t too bad for someone out of shape like me. I’d say it’s a moderate level hike.
You can keep your belongings safe in the van during the tour so you don’t have to carry a waterproof book bag. If you are a photo person, be sure to get waterproof phone lanyards.
There are multiple opportunities to change; however, I recommend wearing your bathing suit the whole day and bringing dry clothes after.
The waterfall… It was glorious to see. There’s a bit of an intense part where you have to hold a rope to get to the waterfall because you are going against the current. Once you get to the waterfall, there’s a large slippery rock. Be safe but it was totally worth the effort!

Great operator and guide - This operator was very accommodating, responsible and responsive and we had a great time. We had booked the La Leona tour. Due to a particularly heavy rainfall the week before, the operator and Verny (the guide) told us they were concerned that the current through the canyon was unusually strong and dangerous. They provided us with ample information and gave the option to go to La Leona, cancel, or go on an alternative tour that Verny helped to customize according to our preferences, understanding that we were looking for something active/adventurous. We decided to go on an alternative tour (a different swimmable waterfall, a sloth/wildlife area, and a nature hike with hanging bridges), customized to our preferences. We were so glad that we did. Verny was an absolutely wonderful guide - he did everything in his power to make sure we were enjoying the day, seeing wildlife up close, and doing the most activities we could. He brought a large lens to help us capture wildlife photos. I can’t recommend him enough. We later learned that the operator’s prediction about the conditions was accurate. We appreciated the honesty, flexibility and responsibility shown by On the Road Costa Rica.

Amazing! - Everything about this company and its experience was amazing! First, the owner of "On the Road Costa Rica" (Anthony) called me last night to let us know about the conditions of the place we were scheduled to go. I appreciated his honesty and at the end of our conversation decided to move forward. Today, we found out that (due to weather conditions) we couldn't do that tour, but our tour guide Verny took his time to explain other options we could do. Once we decided where we were going, Verny didn't skip a beat. He did a great job keeping us entertained on our ride to the waterfalls and back. He shared so much knowledge about Costa Rica and all the different species that reside here. My husband, who normally isn't a nature guy even loved it. We couldn't say enough about this company and their tour guide Verny. We will definitely be back and make sure we book our tours and transportation with them. If you're looking for a transparency, good and honest company that will make you feel part of their family, look no further.
