Cusco - Abra Malaga - Huaman Marca - Santa Maria (biking, rafting)
Peru Travel Company SRL - Adventurers will be picked up starting at 7 am and transported through the breathtaking Sacred Valley of the Incas, the heart of the Inca civilization, and dropped off at the 4,316m high Abra Málaga. Here, adventurers will change into the gear provided by our company (gloves, elbow pads, knee pads, and helmet) following a 20-minute briefing by the tour guide. Then the excitement begins! After 3 hours of biking, you will arrive at the quaint town of Santa Maria, where a new adventure awaits: 2.5 hours of rafting. Afterwards, a short van ride will take you back to Santa Maria, where you will spend the night in a local family house.
Santa Maria - Cocal Mayo - Santa Teresa (hiking, hot spring)
Santa Maria - The day begins at 6:00 am with breakfast, followed by a hike along the riverbank. The trail climbs to the original Inca trail section, where you will walk up and down steep cliffs over the stunning valley. Your guide will share insights about the flora, fauna, and the history of the Inca jungle trek, revealing fascinating details about this ancient culture. The Inca trail descends to Quellomayo, where the group will stop for lunch and enjoy free time to relax in hammocks. Be sure to try the natural fruit, especially the delicious Maracuya (passion fruit). After lunch, the hike continues along the Urubamba River, crossing it via a cable car consisting of a cart and pulley. Your day of hiking (approximately 16 km) concludes with a visit to the impressive Santa Teresa hot springs. Sink into the warm water and let the aches of the Inca jungle trail melt away. Then continue hiking to Santa Teresa for dinner and a comfortable stay in a family house hostel.
Santa Teresa – Hidroelectrica - Aguas Calientes Town (zip line, trekking)
Santa Teresa - The day starts at 7:00 am with breakfast, followed by another thrilling zip line adventure lasting about 2 hours. Then, a van will take you to Hidroelectrica, where lunch will be served. Afterwards, you will walk along the train tracks to the village of Aguas Calientes. Once settled in your hostels, you will have free time to visit the hot springs or explore the village. In the evening, everyone will gather for dinner and a briefing for the next day’s visit to Machu Picchu.
Aguas Calientes - Machu Picchu Citadel
Machu Picchu - At 4 am, the group will wake up to prepare for the hike up to Machu Picchu. Witness the breathtaking sunrise after registering at the main entrance, which opens at 6 am. The guide will provide insights into Inca history and share all the knowledge available. After a 2-hour tour, you will have free time to explore the site independently or climb Huayna Picchu mountain. In the afternoon, return to Aguas Calientes to catch the train back to Ollantaytambo, followed by a bus ride back to Cusco.
