Day 02 Lares (3500m) - Rosas Pata (3305m) - Cochayoc (3745m)
Lares - After enjoying a hearty breakfast, the llamas and horses are loaded to embark on this new journey. The descent follows the Lares valley, leading into the Amazon rainforest. The balcony trail provides a stunning view of the river below. The day continues with a climb to Rosas Pata, a quaint village overlooking the Rio Lares valley. Following a magnificent balcony trail, the journey gradually leads into the Cochayoc valley, home to a village of the same name, which translates to “the village with the lake” in Quechua. Most residents are shepherds, offering a chance to get close to herds of llamas, alpacas, and sheep.
