Day 1: Cusco – Cachora – Playa Rosalinas
Playa Rosalinas - When this stunning Inca city was rediscovered, it remained unvisited because of the allure of Machu Picchu. The city’s location is close to the gods (sky, sun, moon, stars, and mountains). This spectacular trek will lead you to the last enigmatic refuge of the Incas. Choquequiraw (3103 m) is a vast archaeological complex situated near the sacred mountain of Salkantay (6271m) and the Apurimac River canyon. You will enjoy breathtaking mountain landscapes, as well as the Andean flora and fauna. This trail includes a section of some original Inca paths of South America and is rich in history and legends. The route covers 60 km over 4 days.
Day 2: Playa Rosalinas – Marampata – Choquequiraw
Choquequirao Archaeological Park - After breakfast, the ascent begins towards the village of Marampata (2850m), from where there is a beautiful view of the Choquequiraw archaeological complex. Along the way, you will encounter a rich variety of flora and fauna, including tropical flowers, plants, and numerous bird species. In the afternoon, visit the archaeological complex and set up camp at Choquequiraw.
Day 3: Choquequiraw – Playa Rosalinas – Chiquisca
Playa Rosalinas - After a hearty breakfast, the return journey to Chiquisca begins. A steep descent to Playa Rosalinas offers a chance to rest in the shade, followed by an ascent to the hamlet of Chiquisca, where the camp will be set up.
Day 4: Chiquisca – Capuliyoc – Cusco
Cusco - In the morning, the climb to Capuliyoq (2850m) offers views of the mountains and glaciers of this part of the Andes. Upon arrival at Capuliyoq, a bus will take you back to Cusco.
