Loved peruhop - I did the full South Lima tour, with peruhop and i loved it! I had the best guides Arthur and Diana! They were so kind and helpful. After the first bus trip Diana already remembered my name. I did the 3 tours that were included. The slave tunnel tour was my favourite and Arthur was so good at explaining everything, in a fun and exciting way. I would absolutely recommend booking through peruhop!! Lago Titicaca Day Tour from Cusco - The tour guide was very helpful, the tour itself was great. Since I am 1.60 cm, I could sleep comfortably on the bus.

Could not recommend more! - This is a great way to see Peru! Communication from PeruHop was excellent. The transport and tours are very flexible and interchangeable. The bus seats are very comfortable (retract right back). View from the top bus is excellent. It is a great way to meet other people. My only regret was not spending a few extra days of doing more of PeruHop instead of flying from Lima to Cusco, however had already booked!

Cusco to Puno (Lake Titicaca full day) - The travel on the bus is brutal but expected. It’s an 8 hour ride both ways. The bus itself was fine for what it was. However, when you get dropped off in the morning on a side street of Puno, directions were unclear where and how we were to get to the hostel. We were herded into transport vans to the most miserable hostel I’ve ever dreamt of. Directions were sparse. We were supposed to have the opportunity to take a shower but were told it was 10 PEN. We were not told where the towels were or where soap was. Otherwise, we sat looking at each other until the lady asked if we wanted breakfast. We couldn’t order breakfast until 7 and we got in at 5 am. There was A LOT of down time in the miserable hostel. There was one bathroom for men and women each, no toilet seat or soap although we were warned to bring toilet paper. There was about 30 of us sitting in a small, dark, and cold room staring sleepily at each other. Then came the boat ride. We were transported to the boats and had to climb over two boats to get to our first boat. We sat there for about 20 minutes and then told to move to another boat that caused us to climb up and over eight other boats. If you have any, and I mean any, knee or mobility issues, you should not do this trip. The first reed island is pretty interesting, however make sure you bring some cash (15 PEN) if you plan on getting on the reed boat, which the guide will strongly suggest to you as a requirement, even though it isn’t. The women of the village make some very pretty textiles and souvenirs and they only take cash. You will be strongly pushed into buying things from them. The next two islands were 1.5 hours away each as the boat doesn’t really move faster than 5 nautical miles/hour. Or at least the boat we were on was going that “fast”. I didn’t go to lunch on the third island as there was a very rough path up with no handrails- think a low level rock scramble. Accessibility isn’t a thing on this trip. They brought me my lunch and I enjoyed the boat and the view on my own. Another 1.5 hours back to Puno and we got our transportation back to the hostel for free time. We found a good grill place around the corner and tried to stay out of the hostel. We ended up waiting an extra two hours to be picked up to get back on the bus back to Cusco. If you’ve ever experienced the Mega Bus leaving from New York City, it was kind of like that: everyone wants to go home and you’re waiting around for people to tell you they are running late but not giving you a timeline and the tour people were getting short with us. The bus back was mostly uneventful. We knew had a stop for some people to get off to pick up another bus going to Arequipa. The family of four were awoken around midnight, in the dark, with no lights on. They said their goodbyes to us and had little hope in their eyes they were going to make it back to the US after climbing how sketchy the trip was. I hope they made it back ok. I tend to be an optimist, so I’m thinking they were. Otherwise, the trip was an “experience” that I feel could be improved. It felt as if the tour operators said, “Hey we can make money on this experience” and kind of offer an opportunity to visit, but really do it in an ok way. It wasn’t horrible, but it wasn’t great. Would I do it again, or suggest someone do it as an enjoyable experience? Probably not unless your knees are in great shape and you love long, 8 hour bus rides and visiting islands that are 1.5 hours travel for each location. I think some people would like it, but not me.
