Cochahuasi Animal Sanctuary - In the morning, a vehicle will collect you from your hostel or Airbnb location, or alternatively at the designated gathering spot, to transport you to the sanctuary. We promise a distinctive and memorable experience. You’ll spend a delightful day among indigenous animals from the highlands and rainforest regions. You’ll encounter in their habitats: monkeys, macaws, turtles, deer, pampas cats, alpacas, bears, wild felines, foxes, condors, and more. Our aim is to support and impart knowledge about our mission, which focuses on education. Hence, we extend an invitation to educational institutions and the general populace to instill in youngsters the importance of respecting our natural world and its creatures. We aspire to release some of these animals back into their natural environments. Interacting with the animals is an experience you won’t forget. Following the excursion, guests will enjoy some leisure time as this tour is exclusively for them, and we offer flexible return transportation to their lodgings or to Cusco’s central plaza.
At the conclusion of the tour, visitors will find a shop offering alpaca products, where 50% of the proceeds benefit the animals and the other 50% go to the local farming communities near the sanctuary. These sales help maintain the sanctuary’s operations, as we do not receive governmental aid.

Family tour to wildlife sanctuary - We booked this tour after we realized we had a few extra hours in Cusco and our daughter wanted to see an alpaca up close.
The pickup included a tour guide who works at the animal sanctuary. He told us all about the animals we saw. Their drive out or Cusco was also very scenic.
The variety of rescued animals exceeded our expectations. We saw and fed llamas, alpacas, deer and acunas. We saw and fed macaw and parrots, and saw andean bears tortoise, condos, monkeys and toucan, with lots of photos opportunities. Very memorable experience.

Jimmy was very... - Jimmy was very knowledgeable and friendly and on-time. He knew the name and history of all animals in the sanctuary.

A must do experience! - We had such an amazing experience! Well exceeded our expectations! Amazing tour guide with a fantastic knowledge. Would absolutely recommend to anyone. A massive highlight for us for sure!

Close encounter with some amazing animals - Jimmy was very knowledgeable and nice. He knew all animals by name and history. The sanctuary is small but worth the visit.

Awesome! - Starting with an on-time & smooth hour long ride out to the Sacred Valley from Cusco. A wonderful tour & animal history tour with family owner walking through encloses during feeding time!
Awesome ecological work and education of visitors & school visits. A good breeding & release program for Condors! Amazing Speckled (Andes) Bears who were saved but can’t be released for their safety & a connection for sending their extra male Cocoa to another good facility. All fauna residents love their human caregivers. What an experience in beautiful Peru! Thank you for allowing me to visit.
The ride back with the same driver awesome & unbelievable sites to see along the hour ling drive back to Cusco

A must visit if you love animals and the rescue mission - I wanted to make this visit before I even got to Cusco after reading about it. I had a few hours to spare and this was the perfect way to spend them. I enjoyed meeting Albert and learning about the animals and his rescue mission. The animals are well taken care of and LOVE Albert! We need more people like him in this world to love and care for the animals. It’s definitely worth a visit and a great cause!

One of the Best Experiences in Cusco! - A visit to this animal sanctuary will forever be one of my most treasured days of my time in Cusco, Peru. My tour guide was Albert and he has the biggest heart taking in these animals and caring for them so deeply. I got to see (and in some cases interact with) deer, monkeys, alpaca, llama, condor, puma, an Andean bear (!!!), and tropical birds. I highly recommend and encourage supporting this animal sanctuary if you are stopping in Cusco. Added bonus = the drive to/from is spectacular!

Best animal sanctuary! Please support - When booked this tour because we wanted to support an animal sanctuary and not animals that are abused and used for tourism.
We booked this tour right coming off our flight to Peru. Albert the owner of the sanctuary was very attentive and considerate. He offered if we wanted to go back to hotel to acclimate to the attitude, however , since we were feeling fine- they picked us up from
Airport. Albert made it very easy for us and arranged a private driver to grab us from the airport with a sign. From there we drove up to the animal
Sanctuary. Albert greeted us and was an excellent tour guide. You can tell the animals all really love Albert and take really great care of them.
We came for mainly the alpacas but was so pleasantly surprised to see rescued deers, monkeys, bears, pumas, parrots, etc. they really focus on the conservation of the condors which are endangered in Peru with only 700 left.
We loved the interactions we got to get from the alpaca , llamas, and also got to play with the monkeys.
I would highly recommend supporting this animal sanctuary over supporting animal abuse and tourism!

Awesome experience!... - Awesome experience! Picked up at the hotel by a very professional taxi driver and driven directly to the sanctuary where I received a private tour with one of the owner. Book the earliest time as I arrived during feeding time and all the animals were out.
