Edgar is a Miracle - We arrived in Cusco on a Thursday, with very small window of time to work with and without entrance tickets to Machu Picchu. As we were walking out of the airport, we met Edgar. While traveling, our antenna is always on high-alert to prevent getting scammed or taken advantage of, and this trip was no different. We trusted Edgar (and his taxi) to get us to our first destination and pick us back up in a couple of hours. He was very friendly, spoke perfect English and showed back up when we needed him. In conversation, we mentioned we wanted to go to Machu Picchu but didn't have our tickets yet. He went into tour-guide mode and that's when our adventure began. By this time, we trusted Edgar a bit more, but still with our antenna raised. He took us to his travel agency and talked us through the very detailed list of hoops we would have to jump through in order to make Machu Picchu happen. Again, we trusted his lead and he lined up taxis, buses, trains, vouchers and tickets. Given our limited window of time and all the various connections and 'hurries', I don't think there's any way we would have pulled it off on our own. Every time and everywhere we were to meet someone on the next 'leg' of the adventure, the person was there, on time, friendly and trustworthy. A network of angels. When we arrived back in Cusco to catch our flight to Lima, Edgar met us there, to give us each a gift. Unreal. People like Edgar are so few and far between. He didn't (only) do it for the money. He has a servant's heart and service is his number one priority. Edgar was a miracle. Edgar, thank you so much for everything. You and your team made our trip to Peru one of our most memorable in our life.

Machu Picchu is a true wonder of the world and the team at Machu Picchu Peru Journeys made it a seamless experience from the taxis to the trains and our guide Cesar was the best! Edgar showed us the true spirit and soul of the people and culture of Peru. We were so blessed to have such a compassionate and dedicated guide to ensure we saw the true heart and soul of the Peruvian culture. I had an absolutely awful experience with Edgar Sotomayor Chacon!!! - During our trip to Peru, our family was brimming with excitement to explore this beautiful country. Upon arrival at the airport, we encountered Edgar Sotomayor Chacon, who claimed to be affiliated with a travel agency. After discussing various excursions, we decided to book with him, a decision that would soon prove to be regrettable. Our experience with the Machu Picchu tour guide was disappointing, as he seemed more engrossed in his phone than in providing the tour we had paid for. Despite Edgar's promise of a complimentary ride from Cusco to Lima, he failed to show up at the airport, leaving us stranded. Unresponsive to our attempts to contact him, we were forced to secure last-minute transportation through a taxi. Upon informing Edgar of his unprofessionalism, he offered to arrange a taxi ride from Lima to the airport, which once again failed to materialize. This resulted in another frantic scramble for alternate transportation to avoid missing our flight. In light of these experiences, it's evident that Edgar lacks professionalism and integrity. His disregard for commitments and willingness to deceive customers for his own gain make it imperative for others to exercise caution when engaging in business with him.
