• Complejo Arqueologico Waqrapukara - - For the start of the Waqrapukara tour, we will pick up at the hotel at 04:00 a.m. and head south during this trip to appreciate the Pomacanchi lagoon.
• Continuing with the tour we will arrive at Sangarara where we will have a breakfast, and then continue to the Rinconada community where the walk to Waqrapukara will begin.
• On this hike we can see a lot of flora, typical fauna of the area until to arrive to the archaeological site of Waqrapukara where we will visit the following places: Intipunku (door of the sun), main square, towers, terraces, Wiracocha enclosure and cave paintings.
• After the visit to Waqrapukara we will begin with the return to Sangarara where we will have a lunch and the mobility for our return to Cusco.

Waqrapukara Adventure: Stray from the beaten track in Cusco and take on this full-day journey to the imperial marvel known as Waqrapukara; a term that translates as ‘horn’ (Waqra) and ‘watch-tower’ (Pukara) in the Quechua language, signifying its historic purpose as a horn-shaped Military Outpost during the Inca era, situated atop a towering mountain at an altitude of 4,300 m above sea level.

We’ll commence your adventure early, initiating pick-up services from your hotel at approximately 4:30 am and chauffeuring you southeast of Cusco for a 3-hour drive. Our destination: a quaint settlement known as Chuquicahuana, where you can begin your day with a local breakfast.

Following that, our journey continues as we drive towards another small hamlet known as Rinconada. From here, the adventure truly begins - as we ascend on foot for an estimated 2.5 hours until we reach the historic Waqrapukara archaeological site where a thrilling experience awaits you.
