Cusco to Santa Maria\n\nCusco - We depart between 7:45 am and 8:00 am, gathering at the reserve office of Cusco Srl. Our adventure kicks off as we leave Cusco, offering a sweeping view of the city before heading towards Chinchero / Ollantaytambo.\n\nWe’ll ascend on the right-hand track to reach an elevation of 4350 meters above sea level, arriving at the Open Malaga. This spot is highly mystical, often the site for offerings to the earth.\n\nIn clear conditions, or as advised by the guide in foggy weather, we’ll dismount from the vehicle to begin our cycling journey. This route is considered one of the most stunning in the world, rivaling the trails of Coroico in Bolivia. As we bike downhill, we’ll witness the vast Convention Valley and its changing flora - from dry shrubs at higher altitudes to temperate zone vegetation, and finally the characteristic forest area greenery. Along the way, we’ll explore the Incan ruins of Wamanmarka and enjoy lunch on the road.\n\nAfter approximately 4 hours of biking, we’ll arrive at Santa Maria, situated at an altitude of 1430 meters. Here, we’ll rest for the night in basic lodging, have dinner, and discuss the day’s experiences and the upcoming trek with our fellow travelers.\n\n### Day 2: Santa Maria to Santa Teresa\n\nSanta Teresa - A vitamin-rich breakfast awaits us, featuring bananas, oranges, papayas, and other local fruits (juices). We’ll then set out on a trek filled with unforgettable adventures.\n\nOur path takes us through lush vegetation, where we’ll see coffee cultivation and the harvesting of the Inca’s sacred coca plant. We’ll tread on original Incan trails, absorbing the history and the purest air. Later, we’ll have the opportunity to soak in the medicinal thermal baths of Santa Teresa.\n\nWe’ll then arrive in Santa Teresa town, where we’ll dine and rest, preparing for the next day’s journey.\n\n### Santa Teresa to Aguas Calientes\n\nAguas Calientes - We’ll start a bit later today, enjoying a breakfast also rich in vitamins (juices).\n\nAt 9:45 am, we’ll embark on a hike to find suspension bridges and cross the sacred Vilcanota River of the Incas via an oroya. This part of the adventure is thrilling and tests our adrenaline. Along the way, we’ll appreciate a variety of butterflies, parrots, birds, and insects, and visit Inti Watana (the Solar clock).\n\nLunch will be at Hydro, featuring the world’s finest avocados and typical soups. Finally, we’ll arrive at Aguas Calientes, our last resting point before the highlight of our trip. After dinner, we’ll receive final instructions for the visit to Machu Picchu.\n\n### Machupicchu to Cusco\n\nMachu Picchu - We’ll rise early for a trek to the first wonder of the modern world, Machu Picchu, starting at 5:10 am to catch the sunrise.\n\nWe’ll ascend from 1980 meters to 2450 meters above sea level, taking our boxed breakfast en route. The hike takes approximately 1 hour and 10 minutes.\n\nWe’ll then tour Machu Picchu with a professional guide for about 2 hours, after which guests can explore independently.\n\nGuests must make their way down to the town of Aguas Calientes in about 40 minutes to catch the train back to Cusco, concluding one of the most beautiful and comprehensive journeys in the world.
