Rainbow Mountain Peru - Renowned as one of the top 5 most stunning mountains globally due to its vibrant colors, Rainbow Mountain is also recognized by National Geographic magazine as one of the 100 most visited destinations worldwide.
Our journey will take us to the southern valley of Cusco. The travel company will arrange to pick you up from your hotel at a specified time, one day prior to the trip.
We will embark on a 2-hour drive to a breakfast spot in the Cusipata district. After breakfast, we will continue for an additional 1 hour and 40 minutes to the community of Qáyrahuiri, where the ATV adventure begins. Prior to starting the ATV adventure, a guide will provide instructions.
To fully appreciate this captivating location, we will take a 5-minute walk to capture souvenir photos and receive an explanation of the site (approximately 50 minutes). Finally, the entire group will return to the ATVs for the journey back to the restaurant for lunch. The tour lasts 12 hours.
The tour concludes at Plaza REGOSIJO.

Fun but strenuous tour! - Amazing tour! Great WhatsApp communication from them. I requested a few last minute changes and they did their best to accommodate. We did the ATV tour of rainbow mountain and red valley.
Be prepared that it’s not an easy tour. The road is extremely curvy and you can easily get motion sick. ATV ride is not easy. But my kids 23 and 18 had a blast. The hike is strenuous. The guide helped us a lot. Unfortunately it was snow covered white mountain for us instead of rainbow mountain :(.
Food was FANTASTIC!! Overall 5 stars!!!

Rainbow Mountain Tour with ATV and Meals - We had a fantastic experience on our Rainbow Mountain tour! Our guide was very knowledgeable, sharing lots of great information, and he was incredibly patient while taking pictures of us. He also made sure to stop whenever we needed to catch our breath, which was much appreciated given the high elevation. A great plus was that he had Florida water for us to inhale whenever we were out of breath-it really helped cope with the high altitude.
We booked the tour that included ATVs, and it was a great choice! After arriving by bus, we rode ATVs up the mountain, which meant we only had to walk a short distance-perfect for such an elevated area. The breakfast and lunch included in the tour were very good. Overall, it was a wonderful experience, and l'd highly recommend this tour!

High altitude fun and unique scenery. - I'm glad we added this Rainbow Mountain tour at he last minute. Going up via ATV was a blast and we were able to ride to a 5 minute walk from the top unlike other operators who stopped where we started, leaving their customers with a 40 minute high altitude uphill hike. Weather changes constantly at the site and is beyond the operators control. It was cold and actually snowed when we were there so bundle up. Ski gloves and goggles are a good idea if you want to be comfortable. DO NOT do this before you have fully acclimated to the altitude in Cusco. The vantage point is close to 17,000 above sea level and oxygen is scarce.

Rainbow mountain ATV tour - Had a great time on this tour. Pickup from hotel was prompt. Itinerary was clearly explained in English and Spanish. Breakfast and lunch both had varied options accommodating all diets. The ATV’s were so much fun. Would recommend!

Rainbow mountain ATV tour - Day trip to rainbow mountain, I have a cold so didn't want to push myself walking and someone in my hostel suggested ATV tour. It was a great way to see rainbow mountain although you do only get 45mins at the top and no opportunity to see the red valley, but for me it was worth being able to rest and still see rainbow mountain.
Breakfast and lunch included which were both good
Angie was a brilliant tour guide, she was always checking everyone was okay, she spoke to us in English and Spanish, and she was very fun! Thank you Puka ❤️

Wow!!! - The tour was amazing!!! We didn’t suffer altitude because Shirlei helped us with everything. She was there in every moment of the tour. The Rainbow mountains were really emotional.

Excellent tour - The tour is just the amazing one. Everything with the agency went super well, very organized and communicate everything. Our Shirley Guide also spectacular, kept an eye on us at all times and gave us very clear indications.
In our case, we took the tour at 8:30am and considered it to be a good decision, as when we got there, all the morning tours were gone and we had the mountain empty.

It’s about the journey, not the destination right? Well, the journey was not enjoyable. - We booked this because of the great reviews but our experience was not aligned with the previous reviews. I’ll start with the pros and then describe the cons and why we wouldn’t recommend this tour. To start off, the food was good and varied. The ATV ride was super fun and the actual experience on rainbow mountain was very enjoyable. However this portion was only 20% of our experience, with the remainder of the experience being spent in an uncomfortable bus. The seats in front of us were broken so they reclined all the way, leaving us with no room for our legs at all. We were stuck in this position for 8 hours total! The bus ride was much longer than expected, it was advertised as a 3 hour ride one way but ended up being 4 each way. Also, our tour guide did not speak much english so we really missed out on the history and background of the mountain. So while we had fun on this tour, we would not do it again.

Not worth the drive to rainbow mountain - Would not recommend this experience. To start, you only ride the atv for a maximum time of 5ish minutes each way. If you are expecting a long/fun ATV ride, this is not it. The ATVs top out at 7 KM/ hour and you ride in a line for a few minutes to arrive at rainbow mountain, which was also a huge let down. You drive 4 hours each way just to have people trying to sell you stuff while ruining the view. Also, the food included was not good. The driver & guide were so nice but did not share any knowledge, if you are looking for that. Waste of a day & would tell friends/family to skip.
