Humantay Lake is encircled by towering glaciers that form part of the Andes, including the magnificent Salkantay and Humantay peaks, which, when they melt, create the stunning Humantay Lagoon.
- Humantay Lake - Situated at 4200 meters above sea level within the district of Mollepata, the lagoon is 25 kilometers from the town center of Mollepata via a dirt road. From there, a 3 km hike is required to reach the lagoon.
- 4:30 AM: Departure from Cusco towards Mollepata (4200 meters above sea level).
3-hour journey.
- 7:00 AM: Breakfast.
- 7:30 AM: Continue the journey to Soraypampa, the starting point of the hike to Humantay Lagoon (2-hour walk).
- 8:00 AM: Begin the approximately 2-hour hike (2 km) to Humantay Lagoon.
- 10:00 AM: Guided tour at Humantay Lagoon, where you can view the Nevado de Humantay at 4200 meters above sea level on one side and the imposing Nevado de Salkantay on the other. After the tour, return to Soraypampa, board the Mini Van, and head to Mollepata for a delicious lunch.
- 3:00 PM: Return from Mollepata to Cusco, arriving at approximately 6:30 PM.

During the guided tour, we will be presented with views of the Humantay Glacier at 4200 meters above sea level on one side, and the majestic Salkantay Glacier on the other, at the Humantay Lagoon. Subsequently, we’ll make our way back to Soyaypampa, get into a Mini Van, and head back to Mollepata for a sumptuous lunch.
3:00 PM. We begin our return trip from Mollepata to Cusco, anticipating an arrival time of approximately 6:30 pm.
