Cerro Colorado Vinicunca - Our great tour towards the mountain of colors in ATVs begins with the pick up of tourists in their respective hotels from 3:15 to 3:30 am, at the first time and then travel in our tourist transport for a time of 2:40 minutes to the town of Japura (4200 meters above sea level), arriving at this place approximately 6:20 am, where our delicious breakfast buffet awaits us.
after breakfast our guide will give the necessary instructions to start the great adventure in the ATVS traveling to qosqopata (4900 meters above sea level) for an average time of 1 hour and then walk for 35 minutes, a distance of 1.5 kilometers to reach the viewpoint of the impressive mountain of 7 colors (5038 meters above sea level), in mountain of colors we will have enough time to take the best photos because we are the first to reach the mountain of colors we find without the conglomeration of tourists a perfect time to take photos, shoot videos and enjoy the beauty of the colors after visiting we return for 25 minutes to the place where we leave the ATVs and then each take our ATVs and return to the town of Japura where our delicious awaits us lunch.
After lunch return to Cusco arriving at the average 3:30 pm, we finish the tour in the corresponding hotels.

Top tier - My 20-something adult kids roundly agreed that driving the 4-wheelers and seeing Rainbow Mountain was one of their top fun experiences of their lives!
Prepare for cold-bring gloves, hat, sunglasses, along with sunscreen. Highly recommend!

Most professional tour in all of Peru - Arturo is by far the most professional tour guide in Peru, which matters a lot when you're ascending Rainbow Mountain. Three out of six of us needed oxygen, including myself, and two of us lost their phones. He did everything in his power to recover the phones (successfully!!) and he helped me through the worst altitude sickness of my entire trip.
On top of just the professionalism and care, the ATVs were such a fun way to get to the base and his encouragement to take the motorcycle option up the mountain was so spot on. Even walking down was rough. Trust everything he says.
They're also really tight and respectful of the locals, we even got to see them handing out New Years presents to the local children in the village where they store the ATVs.
Bottom line, do this, don't do a hike tour, and demand Arturo. He's the best!!

Great tour.. - Loved this trip . Well organised and fun. Orellio our guide was fantastic. He allowed the start of the journey to Rainbow Mountain to be delayed due to the rain, enabling us to have the conditions to see the mountain beautifully. Other tours just went ahead and they saw nothing. This gave him a much longer day but he was committed to our experience. I thought this was incredibly considerate. He was with us all the time ensuring those who struggled with the altitude were safe and well.. (it’s high!)
Breakfast and lunch were provided and there was lots of choice .
I really recommend this tour. The scenery apart from Rainbow Mountain was worth the trip. I went tandem with my husband as I wanted to take photos. I was glad I did as it was so cold and I could shelter behind him 😂.

ATV Rainbow Mountain - Aside from only getting an hour and a half of sleep and having altitude sickness hit me, I had a great time today.

So fun! - The quad bikes were so fun and we had a great time on them, scenery was beautiful. Went up on a motorcycle and down on horseback, hardly any walking, our guides supplied oxygen at the top,

Excellent tour with Motorcycle option - We started our tour day at 3:20 AM. They were there on time and were very good at rounding up the people from the other hotels. The trip is about 3.5 hours. Luckily, 1.5 hours into the drive they pull over for breakfast. Which was a very nice buffet style restaurant. This was the only place that had free bathrooms. So bring extra Sol(Peruvian Money) Because every bathroom after that, you have to pay 1-2 Sol each. After breakfast, you finish out the drive and arrive at the ATV site. From there, you will depart on ATV to the base of rainbow mountain. From there you have three options(walk, horseback, Motorcycle). We chose the motorcycle option. Which cost us 70 Sol each round trip (approx $25ea). The motorcycle option is the fastest way up the mountain. It can be done in about 7 to 8 minutes. The walking option takes 45-60mins!!!! I highly recommend the motorcycle option because it gives you more time up top. The views were breathtaking of rainbow mountain They had local vendors who were selling food and other snack items. You have a proximately 45 to 60 minutes on top before you have to Descend the mountain. At the bottom, you will go back on ATV, Get in the van, and drive back to Cusco. On the way back you will stop at the same restaurant and have a buffet style lunch. So the drive is not 3.5hrs straight. It’s broken up into two legs, which is very nice.

Great location… long haul on a bus! - Be warned that this is a LONG bus day! 4 hours there, 4 hours back albeit with a meal break each way. The quads are great as is the experience however!
(My pick up was an hour late which was disappointing given the early hour!)

Views beyond belief - The trip to Rainbow Mountain was great. The tour guides were friendly and knowledgeable. They interacted a lot with us. The four-wheeler ride up to Rainbow Mountain was fantastic! The views are indescribable! It was a long drive from Cusco to the location to pick up the four-wheelers but it was broken up by a stop for breakfast and lunch which was good. The only issue we had is that the driver did not want to take us back to the location where we were picked up. Our AirBnb was a little out of the way so we met them at a park nearby. On return, they wanted us to take a taxi from downtown Cusco instead. However, they did end up dropping us off back at the park.

Wonderful guides and... - Wonderful guides and activity was fun but the logistics of travel from Cusco outweighed the highlights. One suggestion would be to skip lunch on the way back and be provided a snack on the shuttle instead. This would save about an hour after a very long day. In addition, our shuttle was overcrowded compared to the description and the a/c didn’t work well. Again, the ATV and mountain were great, just a long ride with less than expected accommodations.
