Highlights
- Vinicunca Rainbow Mountain - Pick you up from the hotel at 5:00 am and travel 3 hours to the trailhead. Upon arrival, our chef will prepare a delicious breakfast with plentiful choices while you enjoy the scenery with a nice cup of coffee or coca tea.
After breakfast, we’ll climb Vinicunca for 2 hours (Also known as Rainbow Mountain). You can witness hundreds of llamas and alpacas and hike around the Ausangate Mountain range, Cusco’s highest mountains.
The hike is mostly plain with a gradual steep incline at the end, and you’ll need a warm jacket, caps, gloves, and a camera to record the great vistas.
At Rainbow Mountain, your guide will describe how the painted hills, Andes, and this mountain formed.
After admiring the Peruvian Andes and the 360-degree view from Vinicunca, we’ll take a 30-minute hike to Red Valley, a rarely-visited region with amazing views.
Next, we’ll return to the trailhead, where lunch awaits. Our chef uses local ingredients to prepare buffet meals. Return to Cusco around 5:30 pm.

Amazing Tour - This tour was truly breathtaking and our favourite all trip. Reni was our tour guide and he was the best. He made sure we got to the best spots for seeing the mountains and made sure it was a smooth hike. Would recommend again.

AMAZING Experience - We did the tour to Mountain 7 Colors and the Red Valley with Trexperience, and the truth is that it was a unique experience from start to finish. I went with 3 people from my family and we were in total 7 people in the group and our Guide, Katia, was just spectacular. From the beginning you could tell that she knew a lot and was super connected to her culture.
The best was when we had a picnic in the middle of the mountains, surrounded by alpacas, with a delicious lunch and a breakfast that was amazing too. The issue of altitude was not a problem because we went at our own pace and could enjoy every moment without stress. In the end, Katia led us in an offering to Pachamama that made us feel more connected to the land and its culture.
In short, Trexperience is the best agency in Cusco, highly recommended!

Stunning views and a fantastic tour guide - Katya was wonderful and knew so much information. She was very careful to take everyone’s fitness level and acclimatization in altitude into account. This is not an easy hike due to the altitude and Katya personalized the trip for all the participants. The lunch was beautiful and delicious and well-prepared by Chef Eulogio. It is amazing what he can do with just a propane stove out in the middle of nowhere.

The good food made us forget the difficult hike! - The tour was perfectly organized. The crew prepared a wonderful breakfast and lunch for us. There was so much attention to detail. It was an unforgettable day - eating local food with local guides and hearing interesting facts about the region. Thank you Miguel & Sebastian for this unique experierence!

Rainbow Mountains - Great Day 👍 - Miguel was our guide for the day and was so polite, positive and patient. We had an early pick-up and drive out to the the Rainbow Mountains, and we're greeted with blankets for a cozy sleep on the bus and a welcoming smile. Our morning picnic breakfast was a lovely way to start the day before our hike. During the hike, Miguel worked hard to ensure we were happy and comfortable, especially with the elevation we were not used to. Great day with Miguel, the amazing driver and excellent chefs who cooked us our breakfast and lunch.

Luxurious experience - It was luxury experience to have breakfast in the mountains sitting behind a table, nice short hike to see the Rainbow mountain and then to get a view over the Red Valley and then ascending to have lunch in private tent with so many local and delishious dishes. The quide had very thorough knowledge of the country.

Beautiful experience to see Rainbow Mountain and Red Valley on one day - A long day and we needed to wake up very early, but it is all worth it! The hike to Rainbow Mountain was challenging because of the altitude. Renny told us to go to the mountain slowly but when we arrived he was in a hurry and we needed to take photo’s quickly and go to red Valley, which I found more impressive! The breakfast and lunch was incredible, like I was used to with TreXperience! Hardworking Cooks! To be honest, Renny was more a tourleader than a guide. His stories were a bit disjointed and i think he could add Some more info about the origin of these special mountains. We asked our questions and officiële he answered them. I gave the tips but he didn’t even say thank you. Hè took a fee pictures but didn’t share it with us in whatsapp. The Tour was amazing but I think the guide was a bit below par, maybe it was because the group was Not very enthusiastic. maybe I expected a bit more because of the great quality after the Inca trail…
