Nevado Auzangate - The day begins with a 4:30 am pickup from your hotel, followed by a 3-hour journey to the trek’s starting point. After breakfast, the adventure starts on a flat trail leading to the lunch camp, followed by a 2-hour ascent to the Aarapa Pass (4,800 m / 15,748 ft).
The journey continues with a 2-hour hike on a flat trail to our campsite at Yana Cocha (4,570 m / 14,993 ft), a location surrounded by snow-capped mountains and vibrant lakes.
In total, expect 5 to 6 hours of walking, covering approximately 15 km / 9.32 mi.
Yana Qocha to Surine Cocha
Surine Cocha, Rainbow Mountain to Ausangate Qocha Camp
Rainbow Mountain Peru - The day starts early with a cup of tea, followed by breakfast. A 30-minute walk brings you to Rainbow Mountain (5,100 m / 16,732 ft) and the Red Valley, where you’ll be among the first to take photos.
At Rainbow Mountain, enjoy a cup of coffee while listening to our guide’s explanation of this natural wonder in the Peruvian Andes.
The return journey involves a 2-hour hike downhill and uphill to the Warmy Saya Pass, followed by a 30-minute descent to the Hananta lunch camp.
After lunch, continue through a landscape filled with thousands of alpacas to the Ausangate Cocha camp (4,500 m / 14,763 ft).
In total, expect 5 to 6 hours of walking, covering approximately 14 km / 8.69 mi.
Ausangate Qocha to Qampa Camp
Nevado Ausangate - Start the day with a hearty breakfast prepared by our professional chef. The trek begins with an uphill climb to the highest pass of the circuit, Palomani Pass (5,200 m / 17,060 ft), where a small offering to the mountains and Mother Earth will be made, a tradition dating back to the Inca Empire.
The journey continues with a 1-hour descent to Palomani Pampa, a green valley where alpacas graze freely, and where lunch will be served.
After lunch, the trek continues on an inclined trail to Qampa Camp (4,700 m / 15,419 ft). From the campsite, enjoy views of the three peaks mountain in a stunning landscape filled with alpacas and chinchillas, with a river flowing nearby.
In total, expect 4 to 5 hours of hiking, covering approximately 13 km / 8.07 mi.
Qampa Camp, Pacchanta Village to Cusco Hotel
Aguas Termales Pacchanta - Wake up surrounded by alpacas and start the day with a cup of tea and breakfast. The hike begins with a 2-hour ascent to the Qampa Pass, offering views of the snowy Qollquecuz and Ausangate.
The journey continues with a 2-hour descent to the 7 Lagoons of Ausangate, where lunch will be enjoyed with a view of the lagoons.
Walk through the 7 Lagoons, each named for its unique color in Quechua, and pass by the significant Otorongo Cocha lagoon.
The final leg is a 1.5-hour walk to the last camp, where you can relax in the hot springs of Pacchanta. A 3-hour drive back to Cusco follows, concluding with a drop-off at your hotel.
