Trek with knowledgeable, local guides through the lush rainforest and explore the ancient Inca archaeological sites of Wiñay Wayna on your journey to the Sun Gate entrance of Machu Picchu. The adventure begins at KM104 instead of KM82 on the Inca Trail. In the evening, you will be taken to your hotel in Machu Picchu town, and on the second day, delight in a guided tour of Machu Picchu led by a professional expert guide.

DAY 1: CUSCO – MOLLEPATA – SORAYPAMPA
At approximately 4:30 am, the operator will pick up guests from their hotel, departing Cusco around 5:00 am once all participants are on board. The journey from Cusco will pass through the towns of Izcuchaca and Limatambo, reaching Mollepata by 8:00 am. Upon arrival in Mollepata, breakfast will be served, and guests will prepare their 5-kilogram bags/duffels to be handed over to the horsemen.

From Mollepata, a bus ride to Challacancha (lasting 45 minutes) will commence, where the hike begins. The trek to Soraypampa will take approximately 3 hours, passing the Hornada Pata viewpoint where the valley divides into two (Valley of Mollepata and Challacancha). Soraypampa will serve as both the lunch stop and the campsite for the evening.

After enjoying lunch in Soraypampa, guests have the option to hike to Lake Humantay, situated at 4220 m/13,850 ft, which takes about 1 hour. The return descent is approximately 45 minutes.
