Well worth the price. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. - Jose is a great guide and dedicated small winery owner. He picked up my wife and I at our AirBnB in Logrono at 10am, took us to three different wineries to sample different wines, and made a couple stops to fields where we learned about different grape types, climate, altitude, and process. The highlight was toward the middle-end when Jose took us to his own winery from the 1880s that he recently bought and restored. After touring a cave under one structure and other parts of his winery, we sampled several of his own label wines made by local farmers and ate some super delicious homemade food – cheese, tomatoes from his garden, chorizo and potato stew made by his wife, and lamb chops cooked over grape vines. Overall, the tour lasted around seven hours. A great day! Many thanks Jose! We ended up buying an extra suitcase to transport home the different wines we bought throughout the day on the airplane (checked luggage).

Spectacular wine experience. - Jose was a great guide and the end of the tour was at his own wine experience.. it’s hard to describe other than to say that it was spectacular and worst way more than 5 stars. We would highly recommend this experience! Please support Jose and his family in keeping the wine history of small producers in the region alive. The renovation of a historic wine property is incredible.

Fantastic day in Rioja - We did the full day wine tour with Jose. In the morning we visited the beautiful landscapes and vineyards in the Rioja countryside. We then visited 2 wineries for tastings. The highlight of the day was visiting Jose's beautifully restored Bodgega and cave. Jose and his lovely wife cooked us an amazing lunch and we tasted some of his beautiful wines. The hospitality Jose and his family showed us made us feel like we were visiting family. We had one final tasting before being dropped back to our hotel. We have done many wine tours around the world and this is hands down the best we have experienced. Thanks again Jose. Alan, Shirley, Robert and Katie...

Brilliant mix of wine tour, tasting and history - Excellent experience that was seamlessly managed from the beginning until the end. José picked us up from our hotel before taking us to see some of the vines, explaining the Rioja regulations / label colours before heading off to three wine makers aka Bodegas to sample their wines - note be prepared for larger than usual samples so pace yourself and I’d suggest definitely having breakfast beforehand! After visiting the vineyards and winemakers José takes you to a restored winery for more wine and a delicious, home cooked three course meal (plus appetiser) which is a great experience, particularly if you like a bit of history. Definitely worth the money for a full day out!!

A very special experience - We never imagined that we would learn so much about Rioja region. We also tasted great wines to demonstrate what we had learned. The cherry on top was the final (and extended) stop at La Bodega del Tosoro. Jose and Yosune are special hosts! Thank goodness for people like José keeping tradition alive. What a privilege to have experienced their passion. The home cooked food and wine was extraordinary. We arrived as guests and we left feeling like friends.

Memorable experience, great host - It was a slow season so my husband and I had a truly private tour. Nearly a year later this remains our most memorable experience from 2 weeks in Spain. The meal alone was worth the cost of the tour. We learned about the varietals that make up Rioja wine and what the official label colors really mean (or don’t mean).

Traditional vinery - Amazing drive around the vinyards. Wine tasting in a few good vineries, but highlight was the tour around the traditional vinery and late lunch in the vine barrel at Bodegas del Tesoro. This vinery also had my favourite wines and olive oil for sale. Fantastic day enjoyed by the whole family

Amazing day of wine in La Rioja - Amazing day with Juan Manuel, visiting and tasting the wines and vineyards of the Rioja region. We received a full history of the region, it’s geography, the grapes, the wines and the foods from our guide Juan and the hosts at each vineyard we visited. Spectacular countryside, beautiful vineyards and great Rioja wines that we tasted and consumed rather heavily. Juan takes you through several gorgeous towns finally at the end of day we stopped at his newly converted winery, which we toured and then had a wonderful meal inside a huge winecask. We made it back to Logrono, groggy and overjoyed by the experience. This tour is well worth the expense. Don’t waste your time if you don’t like wine and learning a lot about them. We enjoy doing both and we had the most wonderful time. I highly recommend this tour.
