- Ba Na Hills - Holy Mother Shrine - According to legend, when Ba Na – Lord Mountain was still largely unexplored and local carpenters were scattered, the dangers of the mountains were famously known as “First are the tigers of Ba Na, second are the ghosts of Phuc Tuu”. Thus, the locals made offerings to deities and the “Holy Mother” to seek peace and stability. French doctor Albert Sallet also documented that the Mother was a female deity known as the Holy Mother. Even French governors who explored Ba Na – Lord Mountain respected the local legends of the Holy Mother and established a shrine dedicated to her in 1931. During wartime, the Holy Mother Shrine remained untouched. Trekkers in Ba Na held the shrine in high regard and worked to preserve it. The Holy Mother Shrine has been maintained, upgraded, and is now a place of interest for pilgrims who pray for good luck and fortune.
