Lompoul Desert - After breakfast, depart from Dakar for a 1-hour journey to the pink lake, a key hub for salt collection. Upon arrival, witness the process of salt harvesting by the diggers and the women stacking it. Enjoy a lunch before proceeding to the Lompoul desert. Upon arrival, board a 4WD to venture into the heart of the desert. Delight in the Lompoul desert experience with a dinner accompanied by traditional ballet performances featuring Jembe drums, singing, and dancing around the campfire under the stars. A camel ride may also be available, offering a truly unforgettable experience.
Lompoul – Saint Louis
Saint-Louis - Begin the day with a 2-hour drive to the historic city of Saint Louis, the former capital of Senegal. Discover the city on a horse-drawn carriage ride. The city evokes memories of New Orleans with its wooden balconies lining the narrow streets. Visit the village of Guer Ndar before heading back to your hotel.
Saint Louis – Djoudj Park or “Langue de Barbarie – Dakar
Djoudj National Bird Sanctuary - Spend the day exploring the Djoudj National Bird Park, one of the world’s most significant bird sanctuaries. Situated on the crucial Palearctic migratory route, it is a haven for bird enthusiasts, boasting the world’s highest concentration of white flamingos, various songbirds, and more. You will also encounter crocodiles, boas, boars, and other wildlife. From June to October, the Djoudj Park is closed for unavoidable reasons. If visiting during this period, the Park experience will be substituted with a cruise on the “Langue de Barbarie,” a narrow peninsula separating the Atlantic Ocean and Senegal River, where you can observe river birds and several turtle species, including the endangered Hawksbill sea turtle. Return to Dakar at noon, marking the end of our services.
