DJOUDJ NATIONAL BIRD SANCTUARY (From November to March)

The site experiences seasonal flooding with fresh water from the Senegal River, followed by saltwater influxes. After the visit, return to Saint Louis for a city tour.
BANDIA PARK SAFARI- SALY
Reserve De Bandia - This tour offers a unique glimpse into the heart of Africa. You’ll see iconic trees like the Baobab, known as the “elephant of the African savannah,” which have been used as cemeteries for storytellers and musicians. In the savannah, tour the Bandia animal sanctuary in a specially designed 4x4 safari vehicle to see giraffes, hyenas, impalas, derby and cape elands, zebras, horse antelopes, grand kudu, rhinoceros, and green and red monkeys. JOAL FADIOUTH - NDANGANE
Joal Fadiouth - The Sine-Saloum region is one of Senegal’s most beautiful areas, featuring swamps, mangroves, lagoons, open forests, dunes, and sand islands. Part of the area is included in the Parc National du Delta du Saloum. The region is home to several monkey species, including the rare red colobus, and is excellent for birdwatching. A pirogue trip down one of the river branches to see pelicans, flamingos, kingfishers, and other birds or to visit island fishing villages is highly recommended. This area is rich in ecological diversity.
SALOUM ISLAND - AIRPORT (OR HOTEL RESIDENCE)
Parc National du Delta du Saloum - After breakfast, drive to Ndangane via Touba, the capital of Mouridism, home to the tallest mosque in West Africa. Have lunch en route (on your own). Admire hundreds of birds, monkeys, gazelles, crocodiles, herons, and storks. This area, recently included in UNESCO’s World Natural Heritage List of protected biosphere reserves, is unique in its natural beauty. Return to the hotel Pélican du Saloum or Cordons Bleus or similar for dinner and an overnight stay.
