In the morning, the operator will pick you up from your hotel in Dali Ancient Town and take you to the meeting point. The tour around Erhai Lake will then commence. Erhai translates to “Ear Sea” due to its ear-like shape. It is also known as “the Mother Lake” because Dali city and Bai ethnic culture developed around it.

The first stop is Xizhou Old Town, where you can admire traditional Bai-style architecture. Stroll through the town and visit beautifully preserved old Bai-style courtyards, immersing yourself in the unique culture of the Bai minority. Xizhou is a small town with a rich history, dating back thousands of years as an ancient economic hub along the tea-horse road. Be sure to try Xizhou Baba, a popular local snack that is a delicious crispy sweet or savory baked pancake. The second stop is Haishe Park, where you can unwind from the busy town and enjoy the peaceful lake scenery.

Around noon, the tour will reach Wase, a small town offering a stunning panoramic view of Dali Ancient Town from a distance. This town serves as the religious and cultural center of East Erhai.

After lunch, the tour will proceed to Haidong, where you can explore wetlands and Jinsuo Island. Jinsuo Island was once a summer retreat for the King of the Dali Kingdom, but it is now a quaint fishing village. The tour will then gradually return to Dali Ancient Town.
