Dambulla Royal Cave Temple - Situated at an elevation of 1,118 feet above sea level, the Dambulla Cave Temple is a remarkable rock formation rising 600 feet high and extending over 2,000 feet in length from the plains of Dambulla. It houses the world’s most renowned cave complex, featuring magnificent Buddha images and vibrant rock paintings, crafted and painted from around the 2nd Century BC (Anuradhapura era) through to the Kandyan era of the 18th Century. The Sinhalese refer to it as ‘Dambulu Gala’ (Dambulla Rock), and the temple is known as ‘Rangiri Dambulu Viharaya’ (Golden Rock Dambulla Temple).

After traveling approximately 10 km from Inamaluwa and passing through Kimbissa township, one reaches Sigiriya.
