Arrival and First Impressions

As I stepped off the plane at Katunayake International Airport, the warm, tropical air of Sri Lanka enveloped me like a welcoming embrace. My journey to Sigiriya was about to begin, and I was filled with anticipation. The drive from the airport to the Ama Nature Cottage was a gentle introduction to the lush landscapes and vibrant culture of this beautiful island nation. The road wound through verdant fields and small villages, each offering a glimpse into the daily lives of the local people.

Upon arrival at the Ama Nature Cottage, I was struck by the serene beauty of the surroundings. Nestled amidst nature, the cottage offered a peaceful retreat from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. After a few hours of relaxation, I was ready to embark on my first adventure: a visit to Pidurangala Rock to witness the sunset.

Pidurangala Rock: A Sunset to Remember

The climb up Pidurangala Rock was invigorating, and as I ascended, I couldn’t help but reflect on the rich history that surrounded me.
