Camping In Selous - What a romantic trip to Tanzania. Rama spoiled us silly with absolute perfection and excellence of service. We had three fantastic days with Otto exploring the massive park and then camping in the bush. Moses the assistant and cook was help was invaluable. He was responsible for the meals, and camp duty. The overall experience exceeds the 5 stars possible. It was so exciting sleeping under canvas with wildlife roaming not so far off. The constant hoove sounds as the animals went for a drink, the occasional roar and hyenas laughter was the night music. We had such an outstanding experience and it was all possible because of the great team from Gecko Adventure Tanzania.

The Week-long Safari Adventure In Selous Was Magical - We actually spent seven days in Tanzania exploring Selous and we still did not complete exploring all the areas in this huge park. We had one of the best guides ever... Otto. He is simply amazing, a patient individual whose efforts were always geared to keeping us happy and fulfilled. This was our second time in Tanzania and with Gecko Adventure Tanzania. We came back to them because they are committed to excellence, great service and have really good guides in their stable. I wish had that we had done Selous much earlier because it offers exclusivity and privacy unlike the the parks in the Northern circuit. There was so much to see! so much wildlife, amazing landscapes,ethereal sunsets and the aura was just magical. It was like living off a story book. It was amazing as we loved everything about the safari.

Highly Profoessional Company With Excellent Service - We recently traveled to Tanzania with Gecko Adventure Tanzania and they were absolutely amazing. Rama created a bespoke itinerary just for us and made all the arrangements with the Rufiji River Camp and also organized for the boating safari and fishing excursion. We had guide Otto with us and he's amazing, he's a walking encyclopaedia on wildlife, conservation and culture. He made the trip so enjoyable as we moved between great sights and sounds of Tanzania. Selous is an amazing place, so vast and ladden with different animal specis, lots of birdlife and water animals too. First trip to Africa. Beautiful encounters...Beautiful memories - A 2-week trip to Tanzania / 2 adults (the grandparents) and 1 12-year-old teenager (the granddaughter) / 1 week focused on diving at Mafia Island and a safari. For the safari we chose, after several researches and quotes, Gecko adventure a local company from Dar Es Salaam. It was very easy to communicate with Ramâ (the boss) by email and Whatapps. He offered us 2 options adapted to our budget and our availability. We opted for 3 days in Nyerere Park in the Selous Reserve. 1/2 day transfer (5 hours of trails) from Dar es Salaam/ meal break at the lodge/ safari on the Rufiji River // the next day full day of safari with picnic // the 3rd day morning safari / return to the hotel with picnic. For the 3 of us, available: a landcruiser in very good condition with a large cooler full of bottles of water / a driver guide (Erik), an independent French-speaking guide (Hassan). Full board stay at Selous safari lodges (comfortable, in a pleasant setting, friendly staff, good food). A clear quote, payment in euros on a secure site and a safari in accordance with the commitments. Thank you Ramâ for your responsiveness, for this good organization and for the quality of your guide collaborators. We are far from the tourist factories! We really recommend your company and wish it a long life. The Selous reserve is not overcrowded. It offers superb varied landscapes (lakes, rivers, baobabs, acacias, etc.) and a rich fauna (elephants, giraffes, wildebeest, impalas, large kudus, wildebeests, warthogs, zebras, buffaloes, hippos, crocs, monitor lizards, birds and many more). other than our 2 very professional and very experienced guides who introduced us to them. They have a perfect knowledge of the environment. They are second to none when it comes to spotting and safely approaching animals. We were able to observe them at length. (notably a group of elephants) MAGIC! The AR trip was an opportunity over the km to discover the Tanzanian reality, to exchange with humor about our 2 countries and to learn a multitude of things about Tanzania. Truly moments of "very enriching exchanges. Thank you 2. Erik you impressed us with your concentration and your mastery of driving for long hours in difficult conditions both on the slopes, in the park or in traffic in Dar es Salaam .We always felt safe. And our slightly worn backs held up the trip well! Hassan, you speak perfect French and you are very cultured. You taught us a lot of things about your country and about animals. We left you with great emotion. Unfortunately we won't be able to send you the group photo because our camera was stolen! But we have wonderful memories thanks to you. Amazing Trip - We had a fabulous adventurous trip to Tanzania. Our choice to visit Selous was perfect because we saw all the big five and also saw rare wild dogs, a leopard and many other animals. our guide Musa was outstanding. He knew all the lovely spots in the park where we could sight wildlife comfortably without spooking it. Accommodations organized was top class which was an additional great experience. The boat safari along Rufiji River were epic. We had a different perspective to see the wildlife.

Absolutely the best safari - This was an amazing safari with this company. Every aspect of the safari was planned down to the last detail. Our driver Makelele was knowledgeable and treated us to the best guiding experience. We saw all the animals we had hoped for and more. It was an amazing experience to see the wildlife from our boat slowly cruising on the Rufiji River. I also can't forget the magical sunsets from our room at Rufiji River Camp.

Magical experience - We just finished our three day safari to Selous. Our guide Rama was an excellent driver and even better as a guide. His remarkable skills in getting us into the action are unmatched. Selous is the authentic safari experience. The park is huge and has fewer visitors which makes the safari special. I'm glad we agreed to do the boat safari on the Rufiji River because it was amazing. The accommodations were well planned and very comfortable. This trip was worth every penny.

Excellent Adventure Off the Beaten Path - We took the trip to Tanzania and have had an incredible experience visiting Selous Game Reserve. This park is so vast and abundantly endowed with wildlife species that we hardly scratched the surface in the three days we spent there. I am glad that we chose this off the beaten path because there were hardly any other people. The natural attractions are in pristine condition, and it was much more than fun than we expected. Musa was an amazing guide and gave us an amazing experience. We will definitely be returning to Tanzania and we will not be looking further than Gecko Adventure Tanzania

Amazing Safari - It was amazing, the guide was so cool and amazing too. We saw a lot of differnt animals. 3 days was great as we were able to do a boat safari, a car safari, a walk with a bushman and the visit of a Masaï village. We stayed at the "Selous Safari Lodge", it was good, people were very welcoming and the place was beautiful and relaxing even beyond our expectations. The food of the lodge was good but we didn't have different choices, there were an unique menu for all.

Lovely and Unforgettable - We returned to Tanzania for an awesome tour to Selous. Rama hosted and made us feel special. Exploring the expansive park with Rama was magical. He has done this trip numerous times and knows everything about the place. It was surreal viewing game on a boat along River Rufiji. We did a mix of camping and lodges making our romantic adventure wholesome.
