  • Datong - Your driver will hold your name sign, waiting for you in the lobby of your Datong hotel. You will be transferred to Datong Railway Station, relax on the 2 hour bullet train trip to Beijing.
  • Ming Tombs (Ming Shishan Ling) - Upon arrival, your tour guide will hold your name sign waiting for you at the exit of he arrival hall, then hop on your private vehicle and take a 30-minute drive to reach the Changping District where the Thirteen Tombs of the Ming Dynasty are located. The Ming Tombs were the burial site for thirteen emperors from the Ming Dynasty (1409-1645).
  • Dingling Underground Palace - Among thirteen tombs, you will visit the Dingling Tomb, the final resting place of the 13th Emperor Zhu Yijun who is known as the Wanli Emperor, is the only imperial tomb that has been excavated.

Continue the tour by strolling down the Sacred Way leading to the tombs. The Ming emperors believed that their souls would ascend to the afterlife after their coffins were carried through the Sacred Way. Admire 36 large statues carved from stone that guard both sides of the path which stretches 7 km (about 4 miles) long. Each of the intricate statues was carved from a single rock.

  • Summer Palace (Yiheyuan) - Next, take a break to enjoy a delicious and memorable Chinese meal which is included in the cost of your tour. After lunch, relax on the drive to Summer Palace, the largest royal garden in China. Admire the imperial palaces, ancient trees and beautiful scenery surrounding Kunming Lake as you learn more about the royal history of China.
  • Hall of Benevolence and Longevity - You will visit important buildings inside the Summer Palace with your tour guide, and your tour guide will explain the related histories and stories along the way
  • Long Corridor at the Summer Palace - Walking along the Long Corridor and enjoy the paintings upon the ceiling.
  • Kunming Lake - If your visit takes place between March to April, you can also enjoy a Dragon boat cruise at the Summer Palace.
  • Qingyan Stone Boat - Your tour will end at the Marble Boat
  • Niaochao National Stadium - Finally, at the conclusion of the tour, you can choose to end your tour in Beijing or travel back to Datong hotel.
