Join us for an exciting tour of the enchanting Hanging Temple. This age-old temple, renowned for its perilous position on a cliffside in Northern China, was reopened in just in time for the May Day holiday in 2016, following repairs after damage from a rockfall in the previous year. In 2010, Time Magazine ranked the Hanging Temple among the ‘World’s Top 10 Most Dangerous Architectures’. The tour also includes the stunning Yungang Grottoes, home to over 51,000 statues. The tallest statue measures 17 meters, and the smallest one only 2 cm! It was recognized as a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage site in 2001. A must-visit day tour from Datong!

Great day tour of Datong with Kevin - Our tour was led by Kevin, who spoke excellent English. He met us at our hotel, and the vehicle that was provided for our tour was comfortable and clean. Kevin's patience in explaining all the details of the Hanging Temple and Grottoes made it the tour come alive. He also helped us to take some family photos which helped make the day even more memorable.
I would recommend the Datong day tour with either Nancy or Kevin.

Very informative and nice day with Sara - Did a day tour with one of the guids of Nancy, her name was Sara. Everything was organized very well. Sara knew a lot and was very happy to share all her knowledge of waht we visited. First we went to the Yungang Grottoes. After this we went to see the Hanging temples. We had some time left, so she wanted to show us another location. But we were tired and wanted to have a rest. But to offer this to us was very nice.

Great tour with a great guide :) - Nancy is a great guide, professional and friendly. She speaks fluent English, we learned lots of things about the places we visited and about the local culture that we would have missed if it wasn’t for her.
Both the Hanging Temple and the Grottoes are truly worth visiting, pictures don’t really reflect how beautiful or magnificent they are.
We stopped for lunch at a local restaurant (not the typical overpriced restaurant for tourists).
We had a great time!! We recommend it 100% 😊

Great way to explore Datong’s unique attractions - Wonderful guided tour of Datong main attractions, both of which were spectacular and unique to see and learn about. Nancy was very friendly, spoke good English and was very thoughtful to tailor the trip to our needs. The car was also very nice and spacious. Definitely recommend!

A fantastic experience! - A fantastic experience! Nancy was wonderful, her English was excellent and the whole trip ran really smoothly and took all the stress of getting from A to B away. She met us at our hotel in Datong and dropped us at the train station after the trip. She was also really helpful in giving us other pointers for some other aspects of our travel in China. Highly recommend!
