Additional Information

Once known as Acuera, or “Healing Waters,” by the Mayaca Indians who lived in the region, De Leon Springs offers a refreshing escape in its clear waters, trails through a verdant subtropical forest with an ancient bald cypress tree, and a deep historical experience. The spring run was historically utilized to power a sugar cane mill and later a grist mill for grinding corn into flour during the Civil War.
