Tales to make Deadwood come Alive! - This tour was recommended to us by the host of our VRBO, and we thoroughly enjoyed it! Susan was a wonderful guide - very knowledgeable and engaging with people of all ages, as our group had both children and older adults.

Great Way to Learn Deadwood History - Even if you aren’t a ghost believer, this is the best way to learn the history of Deadwood. Our guide Susan was a wealth of knowledge about Deadwood and its ghosts! Be prepared for the drop in temperature as the night cools off and bring an umbrella for that unexpected South Dakota rain shower. We were lucky enough to get a little drizzle to add to the spook factor. This tour is not scary and does not include any tours inside the historical buildings. I would recommend taking this tour solely for the in depth historical value.

Nice Deadwood Tour - Enjoyed the tour. The guide was engaged and did well the kids in the group. Two teenagers slid into the tour and were told they could stay. Then they wanted to walk away at the end of the tour while the people who paid were giving tips. But I will call someone out. So the guide can thank me for the extra tips. My advice however, is to politely direct people to where/how they can book a tour.

Nice walk but for a town with so much history not a lot of good ghost stories. - The tour guide was relatively new, I believe, and I imagine her storytelling will get more polished as she gets more experience. She seemed very friendly and enthusiastic but was a bit light on details and didn’t really know how to tell stories to pull listeners in and get the imagination going. The tour was relatively light on ghosts and haunting in general, especially since it didn’t go into any of the supposedly haunted locations. It’s hard to feel any spooky atmosphere when you’re standing on the sidewalk with loud motorcycles and trucks roaring down the street. If it’s not possible to go into locations the tour should at least walk on the opposite side of the street so you could get a decent look at the supposedly haunted buildings and room windows. This is also the first time we’ve done a ghost tour that just went down the Main Street in a straight line and ended nowhere near where it started so you basically had to retrace the whole route to get back to the parking lot. It was a nice evening for a walk and we enjoyed that and a bit of history as much as anything, but if we really wanted to experience the sense of spookiness a ghost tour generates, this would not have been worth the money.

Big on History, Short on Spooks. - This was booked by another family member, so I did not know what to expect going into the experience. The tour guide Susan's knowledge of the history was excellent and could answer any questions from the group and the stories were compelling. The only suggestion I would make is when evidence was talked about from various ghost hunting organizations that the evidence be available to the group, which would add to the credibility of the claims; audio recordings, pictures, etc. that were mentioned. It also would have been more interesting if the group was brought into a haunted building, but I am not sure how achievable that is for Deadwood Ghosts as it seems there are numerous other tours that offer building access, but would definitely be more interesting if it was part of the package. Overall it was a good for a Deadwood historical experience, but if your aim is to get into a building, you will have to seek out another tour.

Skip Deadwood - I wanted history. I would say I received about 2% history 98% tourist trap. Large, chain hotels with casinos, slot machines in every bar and restaurant, which are mostly new, not family friendly at all. If you want a t shirt, this is a really good place. Outside the visitor center, history is non existent.
