Bentota Travel Mart make trips stress free! - We arrived in Bentota for 10days with no tours booked. With 3 children 14,12 and 8years and our first time visiting Sri Lanka we wanted to arrive and get settled before making any arrangements. I found Bentota Travel Mart on Tripadvisor and emailed them to get an idea of tours available and prices. As well as the information requested Sam also kindly provided me with travel times for the tours and with three children this helped a great deal. We chose the Udawalawe Safari tour first which included a trip to the elephant transit home. It was an early start at 4am pick up, but this added to the excitement of the trip ( hotels normally provide breakfast boxes if you are leaving early so worth checking). Our driver and guide was Janith and he was great with the children as well as telling us lots about the trip and what to expect. We were lucky enough to see lots of elephants on the tour including baby elephants with their family, we also managed to see lots of varieties of eagles, peacocks, monkey, water buffalo, spotted deer and many beautiful birds. The whole family thoroughly enjoyed the trip and I would highly recommend it.
We also booked through Bentota Travel Mart to visit a turtle hatchery and release baby turtles onto the beach. We thought after the safari that this would be an experience hard to beat but this short evening experience was magical and one that we are so privileged to have been able to do. Definitely a must on your trip to Sri Lanka!
Out last trip of the holiday through Bentota travel mart was a trip to Galle and a local temple, Sam helped us tailor make the trip to suit our needs and the guide was so knowledgable that we learnt so much. I cannot rate Bentota Travel Mart highly enough they made every trip stress free!

Amazing, would totally recommend for everyone! - Excellent experience! Totally worth it, great idea to use this company for safari trips to the national parks if your hotel is otherwise too far away. We were staying in Ahungalla, so about two hours drive away from the park. Journey to and back from the park went smoothly, our driver was great! We chose the mid-day safari, we still saw many animals so not a problem at all to go mid day instead of early morning. Amazing experince over all, Sam offered great customer service. Easy to communicate with him about the booking through whatsapp.

Udawalawe Safari trip - This is a great trip and worth the 4am
pick up time .
Got to the park just as the sun was rising .
We were surprised that our safari trip was also private and there were just two of us in the jeep . The driver was very knowledgeable and we saw lots of animals and birds apart from the elusive leopard . Highlight was seeing the elephants almost as soon as we entered the park .
Had at least 3.5 hours in the park which was great .
We didn’t enjoy the elephant orphanage as much as it was very busy with a school trip and it was hard to see . One of the keepers kept hitting the elephants with a stick which wasn’t nice to see . He was trying to stop a greedy elephant from taking more milk .
Included hot buffet lunch only drinks were extra .
Thoroughly recommend this trip and don’t be put out by the early start .
Back at the hotel around 3.30 pm
Our driver Dinesh was superb , so 5 stars to him . Transport comfortable and cold water available .

Excellent trip - We had a really great trip and would recommend!!
The park gets busy and so we took the early trip meaning that we left our hotel at 4am and our safari started a little after 6am. However, we think that this was the best time to see the park

A must do while in Sri Lanka - Fantastic day. We went for the 4am start which was worth it as it got very hot through the morning. Saw elephants, variety of birds and monkeys.
Then visited the elephant sanctuary and saw the milking of baby elephants.
Delicious lunch.

Awesome - We had an incredible tour with an amazing guide who helped us explore the wildlife. We loved the elephants and saw so many of them, along with a variety of other animals and an abundance of birds. The experience was absolutely superb and truly unforgettable!

Udawalawe safari trip - Trip was very well planned out by the Bentota Travel service team. The driver(ishan) who picked us up was on time to all destinations during the day long trip and very knowledgeable about the island. He drove us all day from destination to destination. The safari portion of the trip was good as well. We saw plenty of animals (birds, monkeys, crocs, buffalo, deer, elephants) and also plenty of other tourists. Very commercial park with a lot of human traffic. Buffet lunch was a true taste of Sri Lankan experience. Overall, thr trip was good, safari was not as "wild" as we hoped it would be. Trip was om Sunday, 29Dec.

Great organisation - Bentota Travel has a desrvedly good reputation. The organisation of the trip was exceptional, with great communication from Sam.
We arrived just after 6am due to some great driving from Irfan in the very comfortable car. This meant that we had almost four hours in the park & most of that on safari.
The jeep was driven by the most amazing young man, whose expertise in spotting wildlife was amazing. Birds, lizards, crocodiles, a mongoose could not escape his eye, even when well camouflaged. Just astonishing.
The milk session with the small elephants is charming.
Lunch was a buffet, although there was an option for menu. The food was lovely & plentiful.
Go the earliest you can so you catch the animals before the heat of the day.
