• Museum Prinsenhof Delft - After stepping through the gate, this tour will first take you through the Prinsenhof garden. You’ll learn about our Father of the Fatherland here. Who was he, how was he killed, and what did we do to the killer? Don’t worry, you’ll find out.
• Old Church - Of course you will see the Old Church from all angles too. I’ll tell you all about it. And yes, it is leaning.
• Gemeenlandshuis van Delfland - After inspecting the Old Church, and the smallest museum of Delft (you’ll see), you are now in front oft he oldest house of Delft. Since 1645 it is our Water Board. Impressive facade, but what is it?
• Sociëteit het Meisjeshuis - A former girl’s orphanage, with the oldest tree of Delft it its garden. And… a famous man depicted on the fence. The grandfather of microbiology.
• Stadhuis van Delft (City Hall Delft) - After making your way over the Boterbrug, past the Meat Hall, the Weighing House, the Butter House and the oldest Chemist of the country, you are now in front of the town hall of Delft. This is Dutch renaissance at its best.
• Nieuwe Kerk - On the other side of the Markt square, you will find the second-tallest church of the country: the New Church of Delft. It is not so new though. It is where our royal family is buried, and also the guy on the statue. The church has sen a lot, we have also even had some famous American visitors here. But for that, you have to do the tour.
• Maria van Jessekerk - We have left the Markt square and I have just told you about the real house where the painter Johannes Vermeer has made all his work. Now you see yet another church here!
• Vrienden van de Synagoge Delft - We have now made it back to the oldest canal of Delft again, where we will see the only synagogue of the city. This was the first synagogue of the Netherlands that was designed by a Jew.
• Armamentarium - Going further south, you will pass by some former Delft Blue pottery manufacturers and then make it to the former weapons arsenal of Holland. From here, I will also tell you about Vermeer’s View of Delft, as this painting shows Delft from the south.
• VOC-Kamer Delft - Of course, you will also see the former Delft office of the Dutch East India Company. This company is seen as the biggest company ever by some. We know for sure that it has contributed a lot to Delft’s wealth in the past.
