This city walk will deepen your understanding of Delft and reveal its hidden gems. You’ll visit the Nieuwe Kerk, the grand city hall, the Beestenmarkt, and Hotel Grand Canal. You’ll also stop by the House of Vermeer, a remarkable store offering exquisite Delft blue pottery. Will you leave with a unique Delft souvenir, or will you delve into the mystery of the leaning Oude Kerk? Expand your knowledge and marvel at this stunning city during an audio-guided tour.

Here are just a few highlights of the many attractions you’ll encounter:

  • Nieuwe Kerk - The New Church, or “Nieuwe Kerk,” in Delft is a historic Gothic church established in the late 14th century. Its towering brick spire, over 100 meters high, is a defining feature of Delft’s skyline. Inside, you’ll find a rich history, including monuments, tombstones, and the final resting place of Dutch royalty. The church remains an active place of worship and hosts cultural events, making it a key landmark in Delft’s center.
  • Beestenmarkt - The Beestenmarkt is a 60 by 50 meter square in Delft, located in the Dutch province of South Holland. The square was formed by demolishing the Minderbroederklooster (Lesser Brothers Monastery). From 1595 to 1972, it served as the site for Delft’s cattle markets, where farmers from the Westland region showcased their livestock.
  • Stadhuis Delft - The Delft City Hall, located in South Holland, stands on the Markt square, opposite the Nieuwe Kerk (New Church). The original city hall was built in 1200 and underwent renovations or reconstruction around 1400. Although it survived the major city fire of 1536, it was destroyed by fire on March 4, 1618.
  • Oostpoort - The charming Oostpoort is the only remaining city gate in Delft and one of the most picturesque spots for your Delft photo album. If you’re in the city center, it’s definitely worth a visit.

Very nice except the direction of doing the walk was not clear to me. - The gos warnings were not always accurate. This may be because after a while I realised that I was taking the tour in the wrong direction! It was not clear to me which way to start walking!
