Delphi - At the foot of Parnassos, in the evocative natural landscape formed between two mysterious rocks, the Phaedriades, is the pan-Hellenic sanctuary of Delphi and the most famous oracle of ancient Greece . Delphi was the navel of the earth, where, according to mythology, the two eagles sent by Zeus from the ends of the universe to find the center of the world met, and for many centuries it was the spiritual and religious center and symbol of unity of ancient Hellenism.
The place where it was established and flourished the greatest religious centre of ancient times. In 1987 Delfi was awarded the title of a monument of Unesco.
Today Delphi is a municipality of Greece as well as a modern town adjacent to the ancient precinct. The modern town was created after removing buildings from the sacred precinct so that the latter could be excavated.
