  • Rock Tombs in Myra - Myra was an ancient Lycian city located on the present-day Teke Peninsula in western Turkey, within the current Province of Antalya. It later became the small town of Kale, renamed Demre in 2005. The city was established on the Myros River (Demre Çay), in the fertile alluvial plain between the Taurus Alaca Mountains, the Massikytos range, and the Aegean Sea.
  • Church of St. Nicholas - The Church of St. Nicholas in Myra was constructed by the Eastern Roman (Byzantine) Empire in the 6th century. The present-day church was mainly built from the 8th century onward for the city’s Byzantine Greek residents, with a Greek Orthodox monastery added in the latter half of the 11th century.

  • Kekova Island - The sunken city of Kekova, also known as Caravola, is an island near Demre, the Lycian town of Myra, in today’s Antalya province. It is situated across from the villages of Kaleköy (the ancient city of Simena) and Üçağız (the ancient Teimioussa). Kekova spans an area of 4.5 km² and is uninhabited.

Perfect Tour with Knowledgeable Guide - The best tour I’ve ever been on! Yusef was such a knowledgeable guide, and he put all the sites into context with his engaging explanation of the region’s history. Myra was remarkable, and the sunken city boat trip was beautiful. The included lunch was one of the best meals we had on the trip. I can’t recommend this tour enough!
