Would highly recommend... - Would highly recommend this! Was honestly one of the best experiences we’ve had in Bali and by far the most delicious food we’ve ate during our stay. Ayu is simply an exceptional host. Each one of us were completely thrilled by her impeccable teaching skills and her extensive knowledge on cooking. With such a kind heart she made us feel right at home. On top of that it’s definitely not an easy task taking on a group of 10 people in one session haha! Can’t express enough gratitude for Ayu and her wonderful family. If I had the chance I would definitely come back again!

Highlight of my Bali trip - The perfect experience! The whole family was incredibly welcoming, and their homestay was gorgeous. The whole process was very streamlined, and Ayu taught us so much about each individual ingredient as we walked through each recipe. Ngurah also went out of his way to go to a local market to purchase some tempeh starter for us because we expressed an interest in making tempeh ourselves at home. I cannot stop telling my friends about this experience, and I really encourage anyone visiting Bali to pay them a visit.

Ayu is such a wonderful... - Ayu is such a wonderful host. She is very knowledgeable and passionate about cooking. We made several tempeh based dishes and talked about the history of tempeh as we went. It was fascinating to see how tempeh is made and learn all the different ways I could cook it. Ayu also caters to non-vegans so this class is great for all dietary requirements. The end product was delicious and well presented. I left very full and can't wait to try some of the recipes at home. Ayu also does online cooking classes which I can't wait to join! Thanks for the great experience and conversation Ayu.

Best cultural (and cooking) experience I've ever been to! - Everything about this experience was amazing. Ayu, Ngurah and their family were incredibly welcoming and kind. I can’t vouch for them enough. There are many cooking classes to choose from in Bali (vegetarian and not), I’m vegan and love to cook so I was looking for a vegan-friendly traditional Balinese class. And was I glad to find Ayu's class! To my surprise, many Balinese and Indonesian dishes are very easy to make vegan or are already vegan. Ayu had no problem accommodating my dietary needs and even went above and beyond in making sure everything served that day was vegan. We even left with a personalized recipe book that I cannot wait to put to good use. What made this class so special and unique amongst all others was not only Ayu’s incredible cooking experience but the level of personalization provided and the inclusion of the Tempe making tour. Did you know Tempe is Indonesian? Ngurah will take on a tour to learn how local families make Tempe and sell it to local shops. I left not only with a full belly but a heart full of joy. I loved learning so much about Indonesian and Balinese cuisine as well their culture. We exchanged stories, compared cuisines and ate delicious food. I would take this class again in a heart beat.

How to be a healthy vegetarian in Bali! - Finally a cooking course which uses traditional Balinese recipes, is taught along with the nutritional benefits being explained to us, is practical and hands-on, and most enjoyable was eating our creations at the end (it was a taste sensation). Thankyou Ayu because now I know how tempe is made from scratch!
