Your guided tour of Karangasem Regency, featuring Tenganan Village and a rice field trekking adventure, begins when a friendly local guide picks you up in an air-conditioned vehicle from your hotel in Candidasa or South Bali. The journey starts at Kastala Village, where the trek to Tenganan Village, one of the region’s oldest traditional villages, commences.
During the trek, you’ll meander through beautifully crafted rice terraces, cross a natural bamboo bridge, and visit the base of the renowned Mount Agung volcano. Here, you can discover traditional farming techniques, including ‘subak,’ a vital water management system.
After a rest stop in a village along the route, where you can enjoy some local palm wine, continue your journey to Tenganan Village. Upon arrival, you’ll have the opportunity to refresh with a bottle of water and a cool towel before heading to Virgin Beach. There, you can swim or simply relax on a sunbed. An air-conditioned vehicle will return you to your hotel.
Hikers are advised to wear comfortable hiking shoes and pants and bring a camera to capture the breathtaking scenery along the way. Drinking water and a walking stick will be provided, and all entrance fees and government taxes are included.
