Setting Sail from Sanur Beach

The day began with the gentle hum of anticipation as I arrived at Sanur Beach, the starting point of my journey to Nusa Penida. The sun was just beginning to rise, casting a golden hue over the water, and the air was filled with the salty scent of the ocean. As a marine biologist, the promise of exploring new waters always fills me with a sense of excitement and curiosity.

Boarding the fast boat, I felt the thrill of adventure coursing through me. The ride to Nusa Penida was a swift 45 minutes, with the wind in my hair and the vast expanse of the ocean stretching out before me. The island loomed closer, its rugged cliffs and lush greenery promising a day of exploration and discovery.

After a delicious lunch, we set off to explore some of Nusa Penida’s most iconic sites. Our first stop was Angel’s Billabong, a natural infinity pool with breathtaking views of the turquoise sea. The rock formations surrounding the pool were a testament to the island’s unique geological beauty.

Next, we visited Broken Beach, a circular bay connected to the ocean by a natural arch. The panoramic views of the cliffs and sea were simply stunning, and I took a moment to soak in the beauty of the landscape.

Finally, we arrived at Kelingking Beach, perhaps the most famous attraction on the island. The view from the top of the cliff was nothing short of spectacular, with the beach’s unique dinosaur head shape stretching out into the sea. The hike down to the beach was challenging but rewarding, and the waves crashing against the shore provided a soothing soundtrack to the end of a perfect day.

Reflecting on my experience, I felt grateful for the opportunity to explore such a beautiful part of the world.
