• Golden - Welcome to Golden! You’ll be greeted with these words on the town’s iconic sign, inviting you to explore its historic Gold Rush–era buildings, excellent restaurants and microbreweries, and the beautiful campus of the Colorado School of Mines. We may pass by one of the most internationally recognized breweries, Coors, founded here in 1873!
• Idaho Springs - Like many Colorado towns, Idaho Springs was founded by prospectors during the 1850s Gold Rush. We can still experience its mining history by arranging a tour at Argo Gold Mine and Mill. We can also take a short walk to see the town’s iconic highway-side waterwheel or simply wander down the main street to enjoy its charm and dine at one of several recommended restaurants.
• Nederland - Another mining town, but with a quirky twist. While one of the “sleepier” towns of the Rockies, your guide will share what makes Nederland unique, including its name’s backstory, curious recent history, and a historic carousel.
• Boulder - A college town set in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains, Boulder is a top Colorado destination, known for its striking juxtaposition next to the “Flatirons”, the popular Pearl Street Mall, and its proximity to thousands of acres of open space.
• Central City Opera House - We’ll pass by this historic opera house, once renowned for its beauty and stage performances that attracted concertgoers, including a U.S. president!
• Gilpin History Museum - Step back in time to Colorado’s gold mining days at this museum, preserving the history of Central City and some ghostly stories of the town.
• Historic Georgetown - Among Colorado’s top places to visit, Georgetown charms with its small main street filled with interesting shops, some highlighting the town’s Gold Rush immigrant history. Here, we can enjoy a leisurely stroll through downtown, stop for some ice cream or fudge, and then head up the hill to board the Georgetown Loop Railroad with pre-arranged tickets.
• Georgetown Loop Railroad - A short ride on the Georgetown Loop is bound to delight anyone in the group, regardless of age. Learn about the area’s railroad days as you cross high trestles and enjoy sweeping views of Colorado’s majestic mountains.
