- Denver Union Station - A historic landmark in the heart of the Mile High City for over a century, Denver Union Station is a lively hub for socializing, dining, drinking, shopping, traveling, and enjoying luxurious accommodations at The Crawford Hotel. Originally opened in 1881, reconstructed in 1914, and rejuvenated 100 years later in 2014, the Station serves as a preserved monument to the city’s past, a celebrated place of the present, and a visionary symbol for Denver’s future.
- Red Rocks Park and Amphitheatre - The plan is to visit Red Rocks for a short hike and exploration lasting about 2 hours, followed by lunch. A 2-mile walk offers better views, after which the Amphitheater and the Musicians Hall of Fame museum can be explored.
Red Rocks is an open-air Amphitheater built into a rock formation in the western United States, near Morrison, Colorado, ten miles (16 km) west of Denver. It features a large, tilted, disc-shaped rock behind the stage, a massive vertical rock angled outward from stage right, several large outcrops angled outward from stage left, and seating for up to 9,525.
- Dinosaur Ridge - This location offers a chance to see fossils and dinosaur tracks on the mountainside, which was once a beach 100 million years ago.
- RiNo Art District - A stroll down Larimer Street leads to the RiNo art district, where dozens of captivating murals adorn the buildings.
Once an industrial hub, the RiNo Art District is part of the historic neighborhoods of Five Points, Cole, Globeville, and Elyria-Swansea in Denver, Colorado. At the turn of the last century, the area housed foundries, pattern shops, and industrial operations that contributed to Denver’s economic success. As industry moved out of the city’s core in the late 80s and 90s, the corridor was left with vacant warehouses and deteriorating infrastructure. During this period, artists began to inhabit the area due to affordable prices and a fertile environment for arts, artists, and creatives.
- Coors Field - Coors Field is a baseball stadium located in downtown Denver, Colorado. It serves as the home field for Major League Baseball’s Colorado Rockies. Opened in 1995, the park is situated in Denver’s Lower Downtown neighborhood, just two blocks from Union Station. The stadium can accommodate 50,144 people for baseball games.
- Dairy Block - A chic urban complex featuring a variety of lively bars and restaurants, along with upscale boutiques and a hotel.
- Larimer Square - A historic district at the site where Denver was founded, offering independent shops, bars, and restaurants.
- Colorado State Capitol - A Corinthian-style, gold-domed building offering tours, exhibits, and photo opportunities at an elevation of 1 mile above sea level. Designed by Elijah E. Myers, the Capitol’s construction spanned from 1886 to 1901. The exterior walls are made of granite quarried near Gunnison, Colorado. The pink stone throughout the Capitol is rose onyx, discovered near Beulah, Colorado, and is unique to this location. The Capitol’s floors are made of yule marble from Marble, Colorado.
In 1908, Colorado gold miners donated 200 ounces of gold to gild the dome. Rising 272 feet above the ground, the gleaming gold dome on the Colorado Capitol is a fitting tribute to the state’s history.
