The Brown Palace Hotel, established in 1892 for the elite, continues to operate today. It is notable as America’s second fireproof building, constructed without wood. The renowned Molly Brown stayed here after the Titanic disaster. (Her haunted mansion is also part of this tour). While the hotel is visually stunning, it is known for its ghostly activity. Spirits are said to wander the rooms, lobby, and restaurants. Visitors are encouraged to spend time in the lobby after the tour.
- American Museum of Western Art - Also known as the Navarre House, this beautiful Victorian building conceals Colorado’s deep and dark secrets, including its history of prostitution, brothels, and underground tunnels connecting to the Brown Palace and Union Station.
- Colorado State Capitol - The Colorado State Capitol is not only visually appealing but also filled with suspenseful stories not found in the “Denver Post.” From crimes to affairs and murders, visitors might spot lingering spirits, such as the headless horseman.
- Cheesman Park - A park with a million rising bones, Cheesman Park has a tragic and sinister history, as it was once a cemetery for the poor and unwanted. Today, an estimated 2,000 bodies remain buried there.
It is no surprise that the spirits of these forgotten, looted, and sometimes desecrated bodies continue to make their presence known, not only at Cheesman Park but also in the surrounding neighborhood.
- Grosvenor Arms - Built in 1931, this beautiful fireproof apartment building is rich in history and haunted by spirits. One popular spirit is a girl who opens the elevator door for those with their arms full of laundry. Strange, yet intriguing.
- Molly Brown House Museum - Once owned by “The Unsinkable Molly Brown,” who survived the Titanic sinking, her historic house is now a museum filled with spirits and ghostly activity. Could it be Molly?
- Pennsylvania Street - Known as one of Denver’s most haunted streets, Pennsylvania Avenue is remarkable for its architecture and haunted history.
- 420 E 11th Ave - The Patterson Inn boutique hotel, built in 1891, is another historic haunted mansion in the Cap Hill area. There is no shortage of mischievous spirits here to capture.
- Peabody-Whitehead Mansion - Featured on Ghost Adventures, the Peabody Mansion is known to have 12 unrested spirits haunting the location. Recently, two dead bodies were discovered on the property, one of which remains an unsolved crime. Now permanently closed with chained gates, could this place be a portal created by the original owner?
