Crater Lakes Trail

Crater Lakes Trail, James Peak Wilderness - We will drive an hour and 15 minutes from Denver to where we will begin our hike depending how far the group wants to go. We will hike 2-3 miles to the beautiful Alpine lake and then back down to where we will set up our tents, make dinner and a fire if possible. Depending on the time of year and what weekday it is we might go for a paid camping spot.

Camping and hiking offer the ultimate way to truly experience the Rockies. The hikes and camping spots will be customized to suit your group’s preferences, the season, and the day of the week. During summer, higher elevations can be explored, while in fall and spring, lower, warmer areas are preferred. Scenic locations, such as peaceful lakes, will be selected to avoid large crowds.

Camping is usually near the vehicle, with a hike on the first day and another nearby hike on the second. All essentials are provided: food, water, camping gear, hiking poles, headlamps, and bear spray. Just bring suitable clothing and a rain jacket.

Enjoy sandwiches on the trail and a BBQ dinner by the campfire in the evening. Feel free to unwind with drinks and anything else legal in Colorado.
