Embark on a journey to climb one of the highest peaks in Colorado! Begin by marveling at the breathtaking views at Red Rocks Amphitheatre, a truly unique outdoor concert venue. Our venture then leads us towards Mt. Blue Sky (previously Mt. Evans), traversing a picturesque bypass offering panoramic vistas. Break for lunch and leisurely take a walk by Echo Lake. Our route up Mt. Blue Sky guides us to Summit Lake, located nearly 13’000 feet above sea level, for some awe-inspiring landscapes. For anyone desiring a full-day excursion that brings them close to the wild while highlighting the exceptional scenic splendor of Colorado, this trip is a perfect choice!
The parking lot at the peak is typically accessible starting the first weeks of June, and it remains open until the middle of October. If for some reason we cannot make it to the summit parking area, we’ll still be able to reach Summit Lake (12,840 ft)
