- Shipquay Gate - In this section of the tour we will be able to see the Walls of Derry, the Guildhall, the Tower Museum, oldest cannons on the Walls and views of Peace Bridge. We will consider the history of the city from its origins to plantation and the building of the Walls.
- Ferryquay Gate - From this section of the tour we will be looking at Ferryquay Gate, the Playhouse, St Columb’s Cathedral and the Fountain Estate, as well as discussing aspects of the sieges history of the city
- Bishop Gate - In this section of the tour we will be looking at Bishops Gate, Double Bastion, St Augustine’s Church,Walkers Plinth, Apprentice Boys Memorial Hall, and First Derry Presbyterian Church.
- Butcher’s Gate - In this section of the tour we will be looking at the section of the Walls from Butcher Gate back to Shipquay Place, and considering more aspects of the city’s history from the time of the siege to the present day. We will also visit the Craft Village.
- Guildhall - A brief introduction only to the Guildhall.

Private Group Tour (105-120 minutes) (1-15 participants): The starting point and route can be customized upon request, especially to accommodate disabled or wheelchair users. Dates are available up to 12 months in advance.

Public Tour - Individual Spots (75-90 minutes) (1-10 participants): Dates are released weekly.
This tour provides an extensive history of the city, covering St Columba, Vikings, Normans, and Irish chieftains, the Plantation of Ulster, the construction of its iconic Walls, the siege of 1688/89, the impact of Scots/Irish emigration to the USA, industrialization, railways and bridge building, the 1840s potato famine and subsequent emigration, the Home Rule crisis and partition, the city’s role in two World Wars, the recent Troubles, the peace process including Brexit, and the Derry Girls.
- A wheelchair and stroller accessible route can be arranged for private group tours - please request at time of booking.

Meet OUTSIDE of the main customer entrance to the "Visit Derry" Visitor Information Centre, Waterloo Place - this is the entrance opposite the Maiden Heaven Coffee and Ice Cream Shop. Guide will normally be wearing blue Derrie Danders branded clothing.

Blustery Day Turned Best Guided Derry Trip Ever!!! - David was an amazing guide on a very blustery day in Derry! We learned so much and appreciated David’s adaptability, which landed us in a beautiful historical church and unique experience. Thank you so much for your knowledge, hospitality, and one of the best experiences we’ve had in Northern Ireland thus far!

Walking tour of Derry - Really enjoyed my time with David on the walking tour. Derry is a city with amazing ancient history and recent history that is clearly still in the making. Walking the ancient walls of Derry gives you a real insight into that recent history. I learned a lot and enjoyed it all. Thanks David.

Halloween Eve on the Walls of Derry - David is very knowledgeable and it was a pleasure having a one on one tour with him. I gained insight on history of Derry. I will certainly refer Derrie Danders to everyone

Derry is so worth seeing - Our guide was so informative and shed so much light on the town of Derry and it's history in Irish culture. As we walked around he explained daily life and history of what we were actually seeing. We really enjoy our time on this tour and learned and saw so much. Got a few good recommendations for food also.

Great tour of Derry from the top of the City Walls. - Dan is a knowledgeable guide who gave a good overview of Derry/Londonderry from the top of the city walls. We were a small group of 2 couples and me (solo). He walked at an appropriate pace for the group, which included one lady walking with a cane. His explanation of the key sites and places we might like to visit later was interesting and useful. He also pointed out some of the sites of the troubles and explained how there was still tension between the catholic and protestant populations, although the violence has now stopped. He also gave me a couple ideas of things to do on my drive from Derry to Dublin and on his recommendation I went to the charming area around Malahide and Portwarnock instead of going into Dublin (where I had visited before). I enjoyed the tour, believe it was a good value, and recommend it as a great way to see the city.

Guided Derry/Londonderry tour with Derry Danders - Had a brief but highly informative and entertaining coach and Derry Walls walk today guided by David. Hard to cover the unique history of the city in a short visit but David gives his visitors a flavour of the past and also displays optimism for the future.
Make this visit part of your bucket list - not to be missed.

Enlightening experience - I highly recommend taking a walking tour with Derrie Danders. My wife and I took the tour on Sept 3rd with our guide David, who was very helpful in explaining the history of the walls, the city, and the key figures involved. David is very personable and encouraged us to ask questions during our leisurely walk around the wall and town. David is very knowledgeable of the city’s history and throughout the tour he pointed out key locations where significant events took place. Wonderful time!

Top class tour with an excellent guide, highly recommended - Excellent tour of the city with David, especially for anyone from overseas who wants to learn the history of Derry. Also as a local who had never really visited Derry, I found this to be very informative and educational. David has a lively and entertaining delivery, and is an excellent communicator. As David is a native of the city, it's a very personal experience and very well delivered.
The tour covers the detailed history of the City of Derry and its walls down the centuries, has very good, balanced coverage of the Troubles, making it very accessible to everyone, whether they are locals or from the other side of the planet. Derry Girls filming locations are not forgotten either!
Highly recommended tour for anyone who wants to learn about Derrie, Derry, Londonderry, Doire and The Maiden City!

Very interesting tour. - David did a fantastic tour for us. He even changed his regular route so that we could see some of the Bogside Murals.
We were fortunate with the weather holding off.
