A darker side of Ilfracombe’s history - Thoroughly entertaining and highly interesting evening. The walking tour brought many aspects of Ilfracombe history alive through the use of local legends and researched events. Plus starts in a great pub which happens to be connected to many ghost stories. Highly recommended by us a couple on a family holiday with grown up kids also enjoying the evening.

Very interesting and entertaining evening. - The tour was very interesting and entertaining, I was particularly interested in the Tap and Grill Bar story as I remember a home for retired seamen there in the 1960s which lends the story verisimilitude. Would recommend but wrap up warmly.

Interesting and fun ghost tour - We really enjoyed an entertaining hour and a half with Mark, the guide. Interesting and mysterious tales told with humour. If we are ever back in the area we wouldn't hesitate to book another tour!

Convincing Story Teller - Fun couple of hours learning about the many ghosts 'haunting' Ilfracombe's pubs, avenues and harbour. Mark is a great story teller and recommend highly. Spine chilling in places and very convincing. Spent the next day looking for George in the harbour, looking over my shoulder in Rodney Alley and wondering what did happen on that fateful night when the 'London' was lost on the rocks in Rapparee Cove.

Maybe not for Sceptics - The tour was well organised with a pleasant and engaging guide. For me, as a sceptic, the local history was the most interesting feature along details around the 'events' mentioned. However, incorrect information, some basic; referring to 1361 as the 13th century when it's the 14th. This was repeated with other dates, so when it was stated the something occurred during 18th century, I didn't know whether this was the 1700's or the 1800's. Another comment that burning cotton clothes melted - they don't, as far as I'm aware, and the Internet appears to agree - made me doubt other information given and at the end of the tour I was more sceptical than at the start. Nevertheless. it was a reasonably enjoyable couple of hours.
